I really appreciate the info peeps. I'm going to check out the address tomorrow.

Strange thing is: about 20 years ago he wrote me and my brother a little and gave an address which I remember as a girls name (Lucy) and a low door number so the address I have been sent seems very possible. Just out of curiosity, when was the last registered year at that address?

I think the Cathey mmn is a misspelling, is actually Catley having three siblings, and a marriage of a Mark Cohen to a June A Catley in 1960

His mothers maiden name was Catley and there looks to be a brother born in 1957

Parents may have married in 1960

There is an A Cohen on http://www.thephonebook.bt.com in Lewisham, but he may be a totally different person. If you wanted to follow that up, write a vague letter, don't phone

He seems to be an only child (mothers mmn Cathey) Edit - mmn has been mistranscribed. It should be Catley - and there doesn't 'seem' to be an English Cohen/Cathey (Catley) marriage to look for his parents if they are still living.

Edit - there is a 1960 marriage in Stepney, which is after his birth. His birth has been double registered which would imply that his parents weren't married to each other at the time of his birth

Chances of anyone knowing him are quite slight. What other members maybe able to do is help you locate him now, IF thats what you want to do.

Have you searched trees to see if anyone else has him listed?
Other places to try are FriendsReunited and Facebook.

He isn't listed with that spelling of his name on http://www.192.com/all/search/ which are the commercial ER 2002-2013. If he is still in the UK, he may have opted out.

He might have remarried in 1996 to an Elliott, but no children to that marriage with that combination of surnames. She isn't on the 192.com either.

Hi,

New to this whole "Grow your very own Family Tree" malarki so bear with me if i'm not quite as quick or I get something wrong.

I am looking for Biological Father, I'm quite confident he was born in 1956 in Stepney, London. He was married to mother Jeanette from 1978 til around 1984 (I think).

I think he has other children so if you do know him, please be sensitive when you approach him.
