Simon has Willie born in 1914 in his tree, so this could be his death at a terribly early age:

I cannot see Anthony/Antony/Tony in Simon's tree or as a birth on ancestry. Must try harder.

The answer for you is to obtain the marriage cert for your parents.

That will tell you the name of John David's father.
