Find Living Relatives

This is my birth father he was born in Barnsley in mid to late 1950's any help appreciated

We received birth certificate this morning confirming his name it's just really strange because we can not find any records for him

So the name on his birth cert is exactly as title?
How did you find it if no records ?

What year ?

We just sent of for my birth certificate and it has his name on it as my father but can not find any records for him and we don't know exact date it was either 1956 or 1957

Maybe he was'nt born in the UK? Damien was'nt a common name in the 50s for this country...or he just called himself Damien?

Who told you where and when this man was born?

My mum and both father registered my birth and that is the name on the birth certificate and it also says he was born in barnsley

Could it be that he was living in Barnsley? UK English BC don't give the place of birth for the parents

The only info on the birth cert will be the address at the time..............and his occupation

'Born in Barnsley' - could that have come from social services/adoption file?

Without giving away too many of your personal details, where were you born or possibly where was your mother living? He might have been born in Barnsley, but lived close to her in Truro for instance

Is your birth the one registered in Huddersfield district?

You haven't recorded your POB on your entry on your GR tree

No I was born in Portsmouth

Does the BC give his occupation? Or an address for him? He might be listed on the historical ER

There's a birth in 1952 in Yorks for Anthony D...............might be worth checking out.

If so, please do so, and look at it and say exactly what info it contains about your father......

It's says father Damien Antony heaton born Barnsley Yorkshire occupation hospital porter

We have just found out he had/had a brother called Timothy and a sister called Jennifer and another sister

The other sister was called Julie

Well, that's a first.........I have never known a parent's birthplace to be recorded on an English birth cert

It seems strange that you have suddenly unearthed three siblings for him.........

My mum wasn't very happy about me wanting to find him due to get problems she had when they were together and she is the only person who can tell me things about him but she has now come round to the idea so today told me about his siblings. I was 2 when he left so I don't know or remember anything myself
