Can anyone help me with what to write in a letter to Margaret, Angela's mother? thanks.

Depends what you want to say/find out /achieve

Introduce yourself - dau of blah blah
Explain that you hope ypou have found the right person, the first wife of Blah blah, with whom he had a dau Angela
Wondering about angela, blah blah.

Explain you have no axe to grind, would just like to have the chance to meet your half sister.

Dont forget Margaret may have reservations, you have no idea how she and your dad left things and she might blow you right out of the water.

Keep it light and non demanding, air no grievances, just be friendly open and honest and see what ( if anything) comes back.

Wrote on the 10th, hope for a reply by the 12th? - it could be weeks!

I sent my mum a birthday card through moonpig last week....dispatched on the 4th she got it on the 9th

Researching:
Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

There are all sorts of reasons why she may or my not reply- age alone - how old would she be now? , IF you have the right person.

She also may simply not wantto rake up the past.

Angela herself might not want to know, may resent you ...all sorts.
