Well Peter's actually my biological father so I'm able to confirm that Gaynor Humberstone is my mother and she did indeed marry again and has two children.

As for Peter, unfortunately there's been no contact since the 1980's.

As these probably do not show on free bmd, do you want the names of any of the brides sent, or do you think that none are likely?

Gaynor appears to marry again, and is showing on 192.com with new husband and 2 sons.

Could you also say what your connection to him is, as no-one appears to have checked that?

You were given advice about where to look in PH's first post..........

You could buy what appears to be his mother's death cert.......see if he registered it.

If he did, his address will be recorded.

Even if the marriage entry appeared on Freebmd, the only details it will give you is who married who and when and where.........also the GRO.

You will need to purchase a copy to find out the information that you need.

The best place to purchase certificates is online here........

I will PM you the marriage record from Ancestry so that you have the GRO details.

Hi both,

Edmonton and the name Joyce do sound very familiar to information I was given a long while ago (but since misplaced) so you may have found the birth there Reggie.

I've tried searching www.freebmd.org.uk/ for Peter Sturgeons marriage to Gaynor Humberstone but nothing comes up though I note the website states it is not yet complete.

........and a birth in 1950 in Edmonton for Peter J

If you get the marriage cert, you'll learn how old he said he was...............

It would be best to reply on this thread so that other members can read your replies.

The two possible births i PM'd Danny are incorrect.They were births after 1959.

Danny is certain that Peter John Sturgeon was born a couple of years before 1959 but unfortunatley, he does not remember his MMN which might help.

Danny check out births on this free site.......His Mothers maiden name might pop up and ring a bell for you.

Hi there,

I'm hoping to make contact Peter John Sturgeon or anyone that knows him. I have a few details but some of the years may be a year or two off (for which I apologise):

He was born in 1959 in London, his father was also named Peter Sturgeon
He married Gaynor Humberstone in 1979 and moved to Milton Keynes
They divorced in 1983/4

Unfortunately that's all I know for now but am hoping to find more detail soon. Any help is greatly appreciated after nearly 30 years of looking.
