Well folks I am overwhelmed !!! I am also VERY new to GR.It will take me a while to digest all your replys but I will clarify the info I have. My grandmother was Charlotte Smith born 1896 (birthplace unknown) she married John Charles Williams in 1922 jul/aug/sept merthyr,glam vol no 11A vol page 1671.They had 2 sons Edward (my father) born 1-12-1922,and Austin born 1925/6.My father was born in Gamlyn Terrace,Penywaun,near Hirwaun.Charlotte died 1926 after Austin was born (cause unknown but suspect chilbirth) and John Charles died approx 1935.Charlottes sister was Gwen Harris( nee Smith) and lived in Tower Road,Hirwaun since at least 1940t till she died.I have only downloaded the basic marriage info so far .I thankyou all once again,I certainly have lots and lots to learn.I hope this will lead to finding as yet unknown relatives too.

Were these women actually FULL sisters?

If they were, Gwen's mother's name will have been the same as Charlotte's.

GWEN (MRS ) HARRIS (SADLY DECEASED)WAS MY GRANDMOTHERS SISTER,HER NAME WAS CHARLOTTE SMITH( BORN 1900 APPROX ) ),MARRIED TO JOHN WILLIAMS,2 BOYS EDWARD ( MY DAD ) & AUSTIN.SHE DIED 1925/6.IM NOW RESEARCHING AND WOULD BE GLAD TO KNOW HER MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME AND ANY OTHER FAMILY INFO. GWEN LIVED IN HIRWAUN ALL HER LIFE I BELIEVE.HERES HOPING !!!!!!!!
