Sounds like it was a private adoption - never heard of a solicitors bill in other cases. |

When her adoptive parents died she was fostered by a neighbouring family. The mother of that family died recently and in her belongings was some of my mother's documents including a solicitors Bill for the adoption of my mum. Luckily The bill had my mum's birth name on it. |

Very recently I discovered that my mum was adopted. Unfortunately my mum is now passed away, but as far as we can tell she didn't know she was adopted, as her adopted parents died when she was young and before giving her any information. |
