We were penfriends but apart from a Christmas card she no longer writes. I am 80 this year and I think that Dorothy will be also. I would like to send her a birthday card. Her married name is Dorothy Hopper and she lives upstate New york .She now lives in Woodridge,previously in Bloomingburg.

What is the reason for wanting to know her exact dob if she is a friend rather than a relative?

To your knowledge, did she marry so we can look for her under her married surname?

Although US records may seem wonderful in some respects, it's difficult to find exact dob if they aren't listed on the Public record volumes.

Birth registrations are held by State or even County, rather than nationally. It depends on each indvidual place to decide if the indexes are searchable on-line., and then there is the privacy issue!

The census is the correct. But the birth entries are not for my Dorothy. I remember that her birthday was definetly in July and I always thought she was born the same year as me 1933.
