Find Living Relatives

My Father aged 87 has recently disclosed he had a child around 1970 probably Bedfordshire. Possibly Mother and Child emigrated again possibly Australia. The reason I have no other information is because my Mother and Father have not revealed this until 2 weeks ago and my Father has dementia, my Mother poor memory. What is for sure is that somewhere I have a sister who may be around 40+ if you have anyone in your family who may have any clues - at the moment I am stabbing in the dark!
I am fairly sure my sister does not have my maiden name of Undery -but they may know of it as I believe she has written to my Father over the years and received NO reply. Thank you for reading this.

Were you parents married in 1970, so that the child would probably be under the Mother's surname only?
Has your father stayed at the same address since 1970, for her to stay in contact?

Have you checked to see if she has a family tree anywhere, which includes your father? Bit of a long shot but you never know!

Don't worry, or get upset, you will soon get used to the boards and how they work, :-)


On the toolbar at the top of the page is a "SEARCH" if you hover over this a menue with "Search all trees" will show. click on this and in the seach box put you Dads name in and year of birth, to see who has him in their tree.

(If there is anyone you don't recognise who has him in their tree, you could click on their name and send them a message--but delete the auto message on there-- that asks to see their tree-- and put a message of your own to send them )

Anne, just a suggestion - you have marked my posting above as answered. Unfortunately this has the effect of marking the whole thread as answered , which of course it isn't, but it might mean nobody looks at it any more.
There should be an option which reads something like 'mark as unread' to reverse this.

Hi Jan and Patchem - yes my parents were married in 1970 and remain so, but they have moved house/county several times. I cannot see how to mark this as un read but will keep looking. Fairly useless at this!! thanks for your patience Barbara and all. There is someone who has an interest in my Dad's tree and I have emailed 2 weeks ago but no reply, there is no clue how long since there was last activity on this site?
