Hi lancashire Ann, thanks but i dont correct family you have found. I am looking for decendants of Harol - hence it would be his grandchildren now i am searching for for have found marriage for his sons Cyril and Harold.C (Clifford).

By coincidence my gr grandfather had a brother Theophilus.Charles (beleive to be primary school teacher in Coalbrooke shropshire) would be very interesting to find his grandchildren/gr grandchildren. but that will be another time/search.

Is this a different family? I can only find one Theo on freebmd

probably ignore this as there were 2 Theo's, one born in Staffs the other in Salop. Only the Staffs one was registered - 2 Theos in 1851 census one age 9, one age 10

Sometimes you have to research wider in order to find what you need.

eg. Did John Rowley have a sibling who married after 1837 and shows their father on the parish record..... Perhaps John signed as a witness and the signature could be compared with his own marriage documents to see if they are the same person.?

Parish registers or films of them can be very helpful in these cases.

I wonder if there is anything to be gained by looking at the image of the marriage for John and Mary? I am not sure how definitive the online records are, so have thrown out a general query on the Genealogy Chat board.
If it turns out this might be helpful, and you live a bit far away to take a chance on travelling to the local archives centre, you might find an LDS family history centre near to where you live. I know there is one very close to me for example (much to my surprise!).
I have never gone down this route, but I understand they are very helpful, and you can access microfiche via their centres:

Brummiejan, re your comments, yes this is the issue i have to find the correct one
The comment re 1841 census im pretty sure that is the same family for my gr gr grandfather was one of the siblings , therefore the reason to think this is right.
Over the years (although documents have none) John Rowley i beleived was my gr gr gr grandfather from Shirley wich. who wed a Mary Fletcher, and for some reason each time i start to research again on him i come up with his marriage to Mary, so i am presuming that its the right one, but how can i go back another generation until i know exactly which john it is from Weston upon Trent.
I have found lots of time on my researches (other trees) that the christian names usually follow on generation, generation, but relating to the two you have mentioned the names Martha and Thomas been repeated each generation so that is another stubbling block.
Anything else you can find on John would be greatly appreciated,

There is an Ancestry tree with John Rowley marrying Mary Fletcher, parents John and Martha (Price) - but I have no idea why they have come to this conclusion.

Can you see the other John Rowley anywhere on the census reports?

i know this can happen but still conflicting dates of birth for John 1801 1804 1811
brummiejan has found him on 1871 census showing do 1804, but on a previous census states 1811 birth.

Elizabeth is indeed John's daughter, but it doesn't help you with his parentage does it.
With the Newport link I suspect this is the marriage, but unfortunately no father mentioned:

just done a reply to you and lost it - here goes.
Yes definately the same person to what you have just found for me. But the question if how do i find the correct parents for John? for have found two John Rowleys born in same place but two different sets of parents - so would like to know correct parents of JOhn to enble me to further my tree line.
Who could Elizabeth be could she be a daughter i ask? and married into the Biddle name?
Any further info you or anyone else can find relating to johns parents would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, have been trying to find the correct john rowley(my gr gr gr grandfather) for sometime now and someone on ancestry as given me the correct family showed on 1841 census and states his dob 1811 and born in shirley wich. Now when i have looked on IGI i have found two people of the same name /place of birth but to which one is the correct one for shows two different sets parents.
Can anyone help in ascertaining which would be the correct ones to enable to further my tree further.
