Hi, I'm looking for any descendants of Dorothy Ellen Pickett, born 1906 in Merthyr Tydfil South Wales. Any information would be wonderful, she was my maternal grandmother but I never met her as my mum was adopted at a young age. I think Dorothy's mother was Emily Pickett, who married William Harris in 1910 in Merthyr when Dorothy was around 4 years old. I would love to know if Dorothy had any half brothers/ sisters ( they would be Harris) or if she had any other children? My mother was called Stella Yvonne Pickett, born 1943, died January 2013. |

Thanks for this Reggie, I also found these entries and I think they are our Dorothy! Would there be any way of finding out if she had any other children? |

If the death is hers, all children she had would have been illegitimate, so look for Pickett births with MMN Pickett |

Thanks again Reggie, it's a real labour of love all this isn't it?! I had a bit of a look last night and found a Monica Pickett, MMN PIckett, in 1929 Cardiff. Dorothy would have been 23 then so it's entirely possible there is an older sister... she was 37 when she had my mum. How would I check this? I guess I would need to see the name on the birth certificate, can I do this without buying it incase it's not her? Sorry to keep bothering you! |

I'm afraid that the the only way to see the mother's first name is by purchasing the cert......... |
