Your intentions are genuine and it is a courtesy reason for wanting to get in touch again so you are not doing anything wrong.

We are talking a couple of days here and it may be Colin is away or busy and has not got back to you for a good reason.

I think you will soon know if your communication is rebuffed and be prepared for this as it can disappoint, but I think you should give it a bit more time.

I think it is lovely to reminisce - tracing families is all about that. We all wonder what happened to........................ and what they are doing now. It is very natural.

Good luck with this and try again in a few days. Don't apologise for something you have not done ok?

Sorry to be so long getting back on.. Sappho and Rose, I have tried Colin N Jones, who I think IS his brother, but he didn't get back to me. Thanks for your help anyway. It was always a longshot that I would manage to get in touch with him. Doesn't do to reminisce maybe :(

Well it is a common name and we would need a little more information. You could try any living family members like Rose said. Try Colin N Jones on 192.

Hi Sappho, he emigrated in the late 60's/early70's. He worked for the Post Office here in the UK and emigrated when he met a girl called Adele, following her to NZ.
I wouldn't want to cause any upset, I only wanted to know if he has had a happy life. I've messaged a few Colin Jones's but none replied. Perhaps I should give it up as a bad idea lol.

Do you know what line of work he was in. Was he professional, lawyer, mechanic, etc.
When did he come to NZ?

Give us much as you can on the basics without details. It is important (as Reggie says) not to go too personal.

You could try the online phonebooks. Otherwise, what about tracking down his brother, Colin N Jones. Try 192.com

Hi Rose, I think it was the northern island. It was somewhere beginning with a w, and was a sort of repetitive name, wauhwauh or something similar.
Not a lot to go on.

I am looking for Gareth Wyn Jones, born 23rd September in Flintshire, North Wales.
We were an item in the 60's and I would love to know how his life turned out.
I know he emigrated to NZ and married twice. I married twice too. I had a massive heart attack recently and it got me reminiscing. Hope someone can help. :-)

I have edited this as I have been advised I can't put an actual DOB. Seems rather silly as thousands of people would have been born on the same day!!
