What does MMN stand for? I'm not really interested in Elsie's background, only whether she and Frederick, who is in my direct line, had children which they don't seem to have done. |

Yes, it is him, Frederick Horatio Murray Barley the 1911 census living with father Percy etc. He did marry Rosa Warren and produced my father (Ernest Murray Barley) and a daughter (Lorna Alice). Fdrk and Rosa divorced in 1926 and then in 1928 he married ElsieYoung in Guildford. Looks like I have wrongly attributed the children, Doris, Jean and Ray to this Barley/Young marriage but that in fact they belong to the Robert Barley/Doris Young marriage, which makes sense of the firstborn daughter's name. If Frdk and Elsie had no issue, then I have no reason for further search for living relatives!! |

It might be prudent to delete all the info you've posted about the living people who are not related to you, and start again doing research on the correct names |

Oh yes, of course, I see I have been confused in this exchange. I do have the 1928 marriage as taking place in Guildford. And sorry meant to type born in 1928' not died in 1928' I knew she was Beech, so shouldn't have referred to her as Barley. Please forgive my amateurisms! |

I never use GR for research, so am unable to comment on the usefulness of what they offer. |

So, it would seem that two Barleys married two Young's within a year of each other, both registered in Edmonton! The Barleys weren't brothers, maybe the Youngs were sisters, but all enough of a coincidence to confuse me. What search did you carry out to find the Richard and Doris marriage and what made you look at those names, can I ask? And I don't quote understand the part about 'the person who died in 1928 was not named Barley when/if she died'. Could you perhaps expand there please? |

Poss that Robert Alfred Barley senior (30 in 1911, therefore born 1881) could be brother of Percy Barley born 1877, so will check out census. However, beginning to doubt Genes Reunited census records as they have no trace of the Robert Alfred Barley household in the 1911 census that you just sent me!?! in your experience, are some family history search sites more comprehensive in their coverage of searchable data than others? |

Could I ask you a little more about the Ancestry records for births from Coletta/Barley and Beech/Barley? How can I access these, is it Ancestry.com. |
