Looking for descendants of JOHN ERNEST STOKER 1908 FRANK STOKER 1909 ELSIE STOKER 1911 GEORGE STOKER 1914 HENRIETTA STOKER 1920
Father was John George Stoker b. 1883 Mother was Elsie Long b 1887. Elsie died 1920. Elsie married Johnston Lawrence but this was second marriage and no children from either marriage. George served in the Palestine Police force.
All the children were placed in the care of the Northern Orphanage in Newcastle in 1922.............These children were half siblings to my father William Arthur Stoker born 1921 in Hendon.
Would really like to make contact with any descendants of these Stoker siblings.

Have you tried "Search all Trees" under the Search button above.

If you find a possible match you can contact the tree owner to see if you have a connection.

I suggest you delete the automated message about "looking at their tree" and write your own message outlining who you are looking for etc.

I'm sorry I must have the wrong idea as to how this Board works.....I have already researched the trees and have come up with no result.........I am just hoping that a member who is possibly not connected with the Stoker family, but knows of them, may be able to help.
These children as they were, seem impossible to find, without access to 1931 census records or records for the Northern Orphanage which has a security system better than the L.M.O.
Thanks for your reply.....and i find that 'looking at their tree' quite frustrating as have to delete it all the time.....sometimes changes are not always for trhe better !!!!

This is interesting:

Marriages Sep 1940
Brown Alexander L N Stoker Nthmbld.S. 10b 845
Brown Alexander L N Seers Nthmbld.S. 10b 845
Seers Maisie Brown Nthmbld.S. 10b 845
Stoker Henrietta Brown Nthmbld.S. 10b 845

Wonder if Henrietta was adopted and went by Maisie Seers?

Hang on! In this thread you say Henrietta was stillborn!

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/trying_to_find/thread/965968

If that were the case, her birth would not have been registered as historically only live births had to be registered.

Do you have the birth cert?

Thanks so much everyone for help on this. I know that Elsie Stoker married twice but no children.
John, Frank and George, just seem to slip off the radar, and I have tried looking at possible children from Henrietta. At first I thought that Henrietta had died along with her mother in childbirth, but this was not so......I believe the children were cared for by their mother Mary Stoker until she became infirm in 1922 and then died in 1924 in Newcastle, and as said before the children were placed in the northern Orphanage during John George's post WW1 RAF three year service...it is through this record that I came across this first family of children. john George was living in Harrow.........perhaps I could chase up the Brown children from Henrietta and see if there are any tree holders on G.R. will chase up those threads about Elsie.....you are all kind, thanks Av

Do you have Henrietta's birth cert? Does the birthdate match 24 June 1920?

I have that date as confirmed by the RAF. John George was in the 8th & 4th Hussars during WW1, stayed in France until end of 1919 and immediately joined the RAF on a 3 year engagement as a Drill instructor. I paid for his RAF records, and this record shows the date of decease of his wife, and the names and birth dates of all five children. 12/3/08 27/6/09 22/8/1911 (my birthday) 1/1/1914 and Henrietta 24/6/20. no mention is made of my father William Arthur Stoker born 1921, originally registered as Sloane and no father, but then amended to Stoker and John George named as father, John and Ada had previously had a child in 1919 in Harrow who died..........my father is in Freebmd as both Sloane and Stoker with the same reference number.

John George gives a discharge address as 28 Beaconsfield Road, Newcastle, although he was in fact living in Harrow with my Grandmother Ada Sloane. In 1920 he names his son John Ernest aged 12 as his next of kin, in the orphanage.

This is such a complicated family, although the first family of children were least complicated, I think, just unfindable. John George was able to keep up the families by pretending to go on drunken benders, whereas he was nipping up to Newcastle to see the children and his own family there. He had eight sisters born in Newcastle.

Sorry to burden you with detail, it just makes things a little clearer - i hope. Av

Well, that confirms that Maisie Seers was Henrietta Stoker. Don't see any Brown/Seers birth but there are Brown/Stoker births all over.

Don't see deaths for the boys with those birth dates though.

Thanks for that info....have tried to find birth record for Maisie Seers, no joy.....there is that confusing marriage entry in Freebmd which seems to give Henrietta two names. I cannot find any births for BROWN with mother Seers, but have found one birth entry for Brown with mother Stoker, and that name is Myra E, born Mar Q 1949 Ref 1b 333 I suspect the E would stand for Elsie, for the mother who died after giving birth to her.
So i suppose Myra E Brown would be a start. The only person who knew anything about these first Stoker children from my father's siblings died before he could tell me, but sadly his children thought that I was after some money, so they advised him never to speak on the phone again. just so very sad.........So many secrets..............BUT I will begin with Myra E Brown and see where it goes...thanks heaps everyone.....Av
