with no father listed then the best you can hope for is a baptism for his mums name

Hi Shirley, just wanted to say thank you so much for the information, and to let you know that this has made a link that I knew nothing about. Unfortunately it does not take me in the right direction, I am still at a loss to find out about the birth parents of Thomas Hevingham b 1939 aned his sister Fanny b 1837 There is no father;s name on his birth certificate, so I am going to try and get to Stafford and check out the Parish Records there, might help, who knows. The nice thing about all this is that I have had contact from Gillian's sister, and have been able to let her know of the connection, so again, thank you very much for help, it is much appreciated.

Hello Shirley, thank you for getting back to me so quickly, you are right of course, I made a mistake, i was so anxious to get my message on, that I forgot to mention that Harry's son, Arthur John in fact had the 4 sons. I put this message on as I found one from Gillian, on Ancestry, dated last year, but my research has been on hold for some time, as I was diasgnosed with cancer recently, and have only just started to get back into it. It was quite an exciting moment when I saw her message, and have left one on Ancestry for her, but you have answerd a lot of the questions I had, all I really need to know now is the christian name of her grandfather, as I have hit a brickwall with my research, and if I can find out this bit of information, it might help.
