All I have is the heading on the letter he sent to my Grandmother as follows: Band Sergeant G Fry, (Late Corporal) 86 B Company, 1/4 Essex Regt. 161 Bridgade 54 Division, M.E. Force. No other clues. |

Would add that he was with my grandfather when he was killed on the 22 August 1915. Can't be the one Jan suggested - he was already deceased. |

There are WW1 records for a George Fry, Band Corporal (and temporary Sergeant) 4 Bn Essex Regiment on Ancestry. His address is given and wife is mentioned, but no name given! |

Yes, well done, Annielaurie. A link to this information would be much appreciated. My main objective is to see if there are any living relatives of George Fry who might like to see copies of a couple of letters he wrote in 1915. I wonder if someone is research this family tree? |
