Hi guys again, thank you everyone for messages of support, Peter I'm not going to say how I managed to contact my natural family as you have advised me not to share private information. I very much appreciate that adoption is a very sensitive subject and going through the proper channels is probably the right thing to do. However I am sure many people are in the same situation as me and have been fearful about rejection. I have absolutely no regrets about my original post on here and would advise anyone to seek help this way, in fact I have inspired my sister to look for her birth mum, I have learnt a lot from you guys so I will help her as much as I can but you may be hearing from her too in the near future. Thanks again.

Thanks Patchem,

though it didn't stop my post being deleted for no reason though! I wasn't abusive, & I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything wrong other than point out to a "certain" member he'd not really got it right, and couldn't actually read a thread through.

I read Flip's post before it was reviewed, and my sympathy is with her.

Diane, it would be worth starting a thread of your own, in the search for your birth mother.

Good luck!

Hi Andy,
read your thread with interest, Good luck and best wishes. It is often advised on here by helpers to contact Norcap,as you were. I would like to point out that Norcap have ceased trading since Monday 14th January 2013. I'm sure that this will be very disappointing for people awaiting their services.Such a pity.

Hi Andy,

I'm really glad to hear your news! I hope you manage to get to know her and fill in the gaps in your past. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed. I met my mother for the first time 3 years ago and we visit each other regularly - but I'm one of the lucky ones and have never regretted finding her.

Your posts were never controversial, you were discrete and only gave out info we could all find easily with just the names. Sometimes, like on your post, researchers get caught up in arguments between themselves and I regret my part in that, I should have ignored the jibes.

Good luck & all the best,
Flip

Hi guys, just letting you know, I have had a very positive letter from my birth mum! She says she is very pleased to hear from me and has said she would be delighted to help with the family tree, I am very pleased and very grateful for all the help and advise, I couldn't have done it without you! I also feel very lucky to have found her so quickly. Although I understand my original post caused some controversy, I don't regret it at all and I am so pleased I posted it.

Hi guys, thanks again for support, although I am quite excited about this development I will now wait and see if my mum contacts me, at least I know now she has my address and can write to me if she wishes, at the moment I am happy with that.

There's an Arthur P M who marries in Woolwich in the 60s. Unfortunately, there's a death for an Arthur Patrick M in 2004 who was born 1940.
