You can't be sure, without Thomas's marriage certificate but it does look likely. However, I can't see a marriage for George and Eleanor. |

Yes that all fits George must have been Thomas"s father and obviously outlived him. |

George is still in Tring in 1881 and married, but by 1891 he is also in Harrow and a widow, living with his children and sister in law. occupation carpenter. |

Think this is them in 1871, but George snr is a sawmill worker, but birth place matches other census records |

It would look likely, George was on the 1861 census so I assume Frederick was born later, haven't looked for them in 1871 as there was no backup to this being the right family before getting the location of George's death. |

It looks like George is a likely candidate for Thomas's father - he died in 1906, his probate record states |

Yes Georgina and the butlers daughter was my Aunt Edna who was brought up by my grandfather as his own. She was born in 1906/07 as Edna Kracher but was known later as Edna Lester. In 1911 she was living in Diseworth with Georgina and my grandfather Richard Lester. This was a family secret until after Grandma and Grandad died then Aunt Edna needed a copy of her birth certificate and it all came to light. Never been able to find out anything about her father. |

You're welcome, well, if George was his father (you'd need marriage cert to check) then he was still in Tring in 1901, a retired lawyer: |
