That's just my board name, to disguise my real one. It's based on my initials of DET :-D

What I was trying to point out is that you have posted 3 (or is it 4?) threads about the same person. 2 x "jack todd or joan omalley" and 2 x "jack todd".

Stick to one thread (this one) and delete the others. Although it looks as if you probably had internet or computer problems last night shown by the timings, there is no point in duplicating the same request. The same people read them, but may not realise that it is a duplicate, and end up repeating the same research/advice.

You've already had one of the "jack todd or joan omalley" threads Reported for duplication, not be me I might add.

It is confusing for new users of the boards, but all we are doing is trying to help you get the most out of them ;-)

Sorry new to this I do not understand how this really works. I have a detective posting next to 2 of my postings and I do not know what this means. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Susan,

I am not sure how familiar you are with this site. It is not helpful to continue to add new threads with the same information requests.

This really confuses your helpers who are working for you. I sense an urgency, but all good things take time.

I cannot see a birth, marriage or death for Joan in the London area.
Any further information other than the names and south east London?

I'm assuming, Susan, that you were born in S E London in 1957/8..............

Are both of these people named on your birth cert?

The man was probably 'known' as Jack............unlikely that it would be his registered name

Information copied over:
I am searching for a jack todd who was in or previously in the merchant navy in 1957
He would have had links to south east london around this time. I believe this gentleman was a close relative of mine but cannot research any more searches until I know this is the Jack Todd that I am looking for. Any help anyone can help me on this matter would be greatly appreciated

hi, I am searching for living relatives of the above named people, i was adopted at birth and have tried for many years to access any information about my birth parents without any success. This is probably not the forum I would to choose to use but I have come up against a blank wall and this is my last hope.

If anyone could help me with further information I would be very gratefujl
