Lisa,

Have you tried to contact your half brother Stephen, he also has your mother in his tree? If you can find your mother you may be able to find some answers about David.

I'm a newbie so please forgive me. I opened a new thread titled David G L Ellis after info from Genes and I should have added to first thread so here is an update. David was registered twice as Ellis and Hunt. Our mother was married and Ellis was her married name and our father was present at registration so he was registered as Hunt too. I have met members of the Ellis family through Genes and they have no knowledge of David or myself. I have registered on the adoption registered but I'm sure David does not know about me. Don't know what to do next.

Hi, thanks for your help in my search. I think you maybe right that David was adopted as his birth was reistered twice as Ellis and Hunt. Our mother left her family for our father and her married name was Ellis and she took our fathers name Hunt and lived as his said wife. I have looked in 'search all trees' and his name does appear as Hunt with our mothers maiden name. He has no other members of Ellis or Hunt in his tree. So thinking now it makes sense that he was adopted and searched for our mother as I did. I did send a message some time ago but he has faid to open it. Having a new direction now I will continue my search under the name Ellis. Thanks again for your help.

Have you looked on here in 'search all trees'? It's under the 'search' button.

If David was adopted, and is aware of it, and knows his birth name, he may have registered on here............

Could David have been adopted too?
Have you added your name to the adoption contact register?

David was also registered with the surname Ellis

Searching for my brother David. David was 4 yrs old when I was adopted and as far as I know David went into care. David was born in 1961 and I in 1963 and both births registered in Ilford, Essex. We both have the same parents and I didn't know about David and I'm sure David doesn't know about me. If anybody could pls help as I've come to a dead end and don't know where to turn.
