Hi
Originally I was trying to find two half brothers of my husband, or any descendants. This has recently expanded to at the last count four!
The list I believe now includes
Cornelius John Coward born1935 Glasgow
David Vaughan Coward born 1940 Glasgow
Raymond Glynn Coward 1943 Glasgow
Derek Coward 1939 possibly in the Northeast England

Their parents were:
Cornelius Hodgkinson Coward 1910 - 1985 and Margaret Roberts born1912
I have tried contacting others in the tree search...as of yet no luck, with alot of no replies
This marriage ended in divorce and Cornelius H then went on to marry Helen Brown born 1912 in 1945.
If anyone has any info on children of this marriage i would be grateful...have not found any yet.
Searches on 192 and the Scottish ancestry site have proved unsuccessful.

You perhaps need to find out who their mother married after the divorce.

Odds are, they " took " their new step-fathers surname especially if they had further children.


So the Cornelius Coward on 192.com has been " eliminated "

Many thanks to everyone for their info and suggestions, it's been very helpful.

Sorry if this the second post...I thought I'd posted a reply, but I can't see it!

Kingsmill - I've been in contact with the '192.com' Cornelius Coward previously, via email. He is a few years senior to 'ours', and kindly offered to find out what he could as he's from the same area, though was not successful either.

Thanks to Kingsmill and the 'pointers' I have a little more info.

At least one child took their stepfather's name McDonald. He married in Scotland, and has at least one child born in 1969, his wife has a GR account, although it appears not to be active. So close but yet so far!
Any help gratefully received.

You might try searching facebook for the 1969 child....unless it is a common first name.

There is a death recorded for Helen Coward (other forenames Barclay G) in 2006 in the Kilbirnie Area
She was 93 years old.
It may be worth ordering a copy of her death certificate.
This will give you the name of the person who registered the death.
As the death is fairly recent you may be able to contact the person who registered the death.
