Ah! Brian SUMMERS - born: Shilling (overseas birth) 1951. Today I ordered his birth cert.

I believe his parents were: Ernest George SUMMERS (aka: George Ernest) and Vera Millicent HORNE.

The above couple had a son, David George SUMMERS, b 1938 , Kent.

I would very much like to make contact with this family on behalf of my mother.

Thank you - I didn't know where Shilling / Shilong was.

Ernest was certainly in the British Army - he had been a POW of the Japanese and I have a reference relating to this. He was taken at the fall of Singapore and his wife, Vera, with their first born, David escaped and were taken to Australia and later repatriated back to England.

Ernest and Vera had two more children are WWII - I think Brian (referred to earlier) was the last and either a Jennifer R, born Plymouth, or a Jean A. b Hampshire was probably their other two children referred to after the death of Ernest in 1954.
Vera may have remarried and the children taken the name of a second husband.
But, that's conjecture.

So, to find the children is my quest.

The first entry you note for Vera HORNE is the one who married Ernest George SUMMERS (i have the marriage cert.).

Have you looked for possible marriages for the other two children?
