The odds of anyone connected just happening to see your post must be millions to one

Follow the very good advice about using 'search trees'

Be pro-active.

Also, use freebmd to track them.....it covers up to around 1950

if you click the search tab, you can search for either surname. If anyone else is searching, you can message them

Thanks to all those who replied...sorry I posted the message when a bit tired without my notes...Elsie's marriage was as stated Dec 1909 not the 1910 I erroneously stated..Basically I was hoping a Southern or Kiffin person was compiling a tree & my message would attract them...no luck so far

Um, RR, as far as I recall I gave the usual advice about searching trees. How bizarre!
Maybe it was the bad language ...

When did Elsie die, as you have stated
'Elsie Southern (B 1888 D 1887) who married William Henry Cartwright 1910.D 1951,'
And what does 1910 refer to?

Blimey Jan, what did you say lol, never seen you post anything other than a helpful hint, to search trees for instance to see if there are members who have the same names in their trees?

Welcome to the boards Geoffrey.
First thing to do is check for these people on other members' trees.
Use 'search all trees' which is found in search box above right.
You can then contact any matching members by clicking on their name.

My name is Geoff Thompson and am looking for relatives that descended through the:
1) The Southern name principally living in Aston Birmingham-during the 19th century & into the 1960s till the clearances & re-housing occurred.
Southern is the maiden name of my grandmother Elsie Southern (B 1888 D 1887) who married William Henry Cartwright 1910.D 1951,
Elsie was the youngest child of 7 known children of Joseph Southern & Charlotte Egington who married in 1873.
Their children were John B 1975 D in the 1960/70s,Christopher B 1878, Cornelious B 1880, Bertrum B 1882, Charlotte B 1884, Edward B 1886, & Elsie B 1888.
By the way John Southern was noted for carrying a spanish onion in his pocket & from time to time taking it out & eating it like an apple.
Some of these Southerns also married & had children in the early to middle 2oth century. but have lost track.

2) In 1890 my great grandmother Charlotte Southern became a widow at age 34 & remarried 1892 a John Kiffin they had a daughter Beatrice known by me as Aunt Beattie.
Are there any Southern & Kiffin people building their trees that maybe linked?
