Trying to help my sister iin law trace a wartime friend. Both were in the Womens Land Army together. Stationed near Newbury. Friends name is/was Joan Seaton, born about 1930 in London. Her father was a green grocer. my sister in laws name is Gladys Winfield, but known as Tiny.Joan had a brother, think his name was George. Any info would be helpful. thanks :-) Celia Long |

Would she be born a little earlier than 1930?as in 1945 she would still say be only be 14-16....would that help you narrow down births and a possible birth place? |

Kay??? Yes it is possible Joan could be a little older. Both girls joined WLA in 1947. But my sister in law remembers celebrating Joans 21st birthday in a pub, with friends. That was the last time the two girls were together. That was in 1951. |

WLA was disbanded in Oct 1950,so a little more info that could help narrow it down it for you Celia. |
