There looks to be 3 brothers and one sister Cattermole /Cresswell . they should show on FreeBMD.

Have you done a Search Trees to see if any of them are on GR

there i a Cattermole /Cresswell marriage in 1947 Derbyshire so may well be the family .

Have you tried looking for a marriage for a Lesley Cattermole

Are you certain about the surnames you are quoting?

My father did not marry Lesley's mother, he was a prisoner of war for five years i do not know what happened when he returned from the war 1945
Lesley would be my half sister.
I have found a birth of a Lesley Cresswell in 1941. Mother married Cattermole in 1947 the only info I have is that this girl was adopted by Mr Cattermole in the 50's and she had half brothers with the surname Cattermole.

It would seem then that they weren't married when Lesley was born ?? if so she would be in her mums surname?? unless you have any info on her mum it may not be possible to trace the right Lesley .

Do you have any other info??

When your parents married was he single on the marriage certificate as I can see just the one marriage in 1945.

Would any of his siblings or their children know the name of the mother ?

Is she actually your sister? Or a half-sister?

It makes a vast difference when it comes to research

Have you tried looking on freebmd for a birth for her?

That's where you need to start...............

As she is your sister you would know both parents names. You can look for her birth then the remarriage for her mum which would give you her adopted surname.

You can then look for a marriage for her in the new surname.

We cant do any searching for you without any relevant info.

My sister is Lesley born approx 1939/1942 birth Father Sam, Lesley visited his family in Reading until her Mothers husband adopted her, we have been looking for her for,over 20 years.
Not sure of place of birth. Could be London or the Midlands

Any help would be so appreciated
