Find Living Relatives

I am trying to find family tree links for the Skelton side of my family (Grandfather John or John Graves born circa 1881) from Whitehaven, Cumberland. Also, my Grandmother's side (Hearsey). Her name was Esther Margaret (born circa 1885). She was brought up in Carlisle, Cumberland but her father was from Surrey and, I believe, her mother was from County Mayo in Ireland (name not known).

My mother was Nancy Cass Skelton born 1924). She was one of five children; Lilian (born 1920), Margaret (Peggy) (born 1922), William (Billy) (born circa 1918) and John Graves (Jacky) (born circa 1934).

My grandmother went to America when she was young and married her first husband over there. He was called Ormston, I believe. When he died she returned to Cumberland. I think there may have been a child to my grandmother's first husband but I am not sure if the child survived and was left in the USA to be brought up by her husband's family.

My father was George Thomas Middleton (born circa 1920) in Stafford. His mother's maiden name was Esther May Till, I think, again from the Staffordshire area. I think his father was called Thomas Middleton. My father had a sister called Hilda and a brother called William (Bill), who was married to Leela (my aunt). There were other siblings but I don't know their names.

I know that my father re-married and that I may have half-siblings and there is also supposed to be another half-sibling somewhere (male) but I do not know their names.

If anyone has any information that will help me to build my family tree I would be grateful.

I'm less than happy..........................

Sorry, I don't mean to be confusing. I have just started to research into my family history so this is all new to me. As I am not familiar with how the site works, I am still getting used to it. I am busy with other things so may not check my e-mails every day so please be patient with me.

My grandmother, Esther Margaret Hearsey, was the woman who went to America as a young girl/woman and, apparently, married a man called Ormston. However, this is information that has been passed down through the family rather than 'researched' and so may be inaccurate in parts. I was quite young when my grandparents were in their mid 80's so much of the verbal family history has probably been lost or confused over time. However, this is the information I have to start with.

I could not find a marriage for my grandparents through Genes re-united. What is freebmd? Sorry, If I sound so inexperienced with this but I suppose I am.
