Trying to find Nicholas Coughlan, who was born aprox 1960 and given up for adoption after spending six weeks with his mother Julia Bridget Coughlan. Unfortunately Julia died in 1983, leaving two other children from her marraige (Ron 47 & Sharon 44). Ron was only 18 years old when she died, but thinks that she might have been in touch with Nicholas after he traced her. He remembers a phone call not long after she died, that may have been from Nicholas. Ron would love to find and meet Nicholas. |

Has Ron put his details on the National Adoption Register? |

No! He is just starting out. Is it easy to do? I am personally a member of Norcap, do you think that would be a good place to look too? |

Just realised - I have assumed this took place in England/Wales! Looking at the names maybe this isn't so? |

try and get a copy of a birth cert-or at least the exact year etc so you know exact age. Try the elecoral roll? try searching the marriage index ? |

If he was adopted his name would not be Nicholas Coughlan now. so Would doubt whether the ER or marriage index would be much use |

Yeah I thought it might be difficult to find him because of probable name change, even if they kept his first name his surname would be different, and I assume adoption certificates are not as easy to aquire as birth certs. Will have to put our details on the places suggested and sit and wait and see what happens! |
