I hope someone can help us PLEASE. George William Sutton a Tobacconist of 6a Borough Road Middlesbrough aged 26 years married Mary Richardson a Spinster a Comptometer Operator aged 26 years of 5 St Margarets Grove Redcar on the 11th March 1940 at Register Office in the County Borough of Middlesbrough. I have a second marriage certificate for George William Sutton who remarried on the 7th December 1960 and stated he was a Widower, he was residing at 72 Borough Road Redcar and was a Confectioner, he married Eileen aged 38 years a Spinster also a Confectioner who lived at 39 Buckingham Road Redcar. I have checked the electoral register and they were residing there namely Borough Road until the early 1970's. George William Sutton died on the 4th may 1971 Eileen was the informant. HERE IS THE MYSTERY. There was a child born who was known as Yvonne who resided at Borough Road Redcar. However we can find no trace of her at all, also no trace of a death certificate for Mary nee Richardson. However Eileen remarried to a Mr Snaith(e) a couple of years later. Yvonne gave birth to a daughter in or around 1964 somewhere in Yorkshire in a home for unmarried mothers run by Nuns. John is the father. We contacted Christs Church Coatham Redcar as the Rev Wiilliam Wordsworth now deceased was involved in the adoption but we have been informed they are unable to assist us with our search. We are anxious to piece together this mystery as we are wanting to find details of Yvonne's date of birth and the whereabouts of the child. Can ANYONE PLEASE HELP US. :-) |
