I think what Jan was trying to say was that to look for Mary in other peoples trees on Genes then you need to use her maiden name - O'Neill.

However if you are looking to find her in up to date telephone directories or electoral registers then you need to look for her under her married name of Mary Osbaldeston - providing she hasn't re-married (although I can't find another marriage for her).

If you have the marriage cert does it give a fathers name?

Could she have been Irish?

I know you type mary oneill, not her husband, when you told me she would be mary Os. I thought i could type Osbaldeston.

on marriage cert it ,shows she was 18. it means she was born in 1948. It doesn't mean she was 18, people lie in certs.

You aren't making any sense to me! Her birth name is Mary O'Neill, is that right? She married Raymond and became Mary Osbaldeston. There is no point looking for a Mary Osbaldeston in anyone's tree, as her birth name is O'Neill. This name is too common to look for without knowing her birthplace and year, and even then you would find it tricky.
Have you actually tried 192.com as suggested?
And you are incorrect when you say 'people didnt move that much'.

I typed mary Osbaldeston in tree, there is nothing.

I found a Mary born in lancashire in 1950. she was born between 1948 to 1950.
He lived in lancashire. people didnt move that much.

But she will be Mary Osbaldeston won't she, not Mary O'Neill, always assuming she did not re-marry.

I am guessing this is him, name slightly mis-spelt. Maybe you should get the cert - assuming Mary registered the death, at least you will have an address to work with.
But do check 192.com as suggested.

Have you looked on 192.com?

I see the marriage took place in Manchester in the 1960's. Did they stay in the same area?
