I am trying to find my dad John Brammer. I dont know too much about him other than he lived in Barnsley with my mum Dawn for a few years and I believe he was born around 1954. A family friend told me he moved to Sheffield a few years after I was born in 1989. After that I have no idea. I have never met him and would very much like to find him. Any information would be much appriceated. |

Have you tried 192.com? There is a John Brammer registered as living in Sheffield, but many more in Yorkshire as a whole. |

So - you didn't find the Sheffield one? Not sure what you mean by 'didn't find anything', as there are quite a few! |

There are 4 John Brammers born in Yorkshire 1952-56. One is Barnsley, might be worth checking out. You could do with more information. Does the person you have spoken to have any idea if he had other family? The other thing is to check the electoral register for any address he was living at just in case there is a middle name after all. This would have to be done in person, or you would need to ask for a lookup by the staff for which they may charge. Archives are normally kept at the nearest main library. |

I saw that one too. He seems to have been an only child, which is a pity. His parents' marriage is easy to spot, so you might pursue this? Have you seen it? |

There is someone on Ancestry with the above couple. They do not give any children for them but might be worth contacting, if only to try and exclude them. I am sure the above death is correct, this must be Emily's birth, and it matches their info. |
