Find Living Relatives

Hi,
I am trying to find a Stephen/Steven Howarth/Haworth in the Lancashire area, mainly Blackpool, Leyland or Preston? I know he was roughly born in 1972, apparently in March. Last know to work in IT/Computing in Preston about 8 years ago. Now married with atleast 1 child.
Any information would be extremely appreciated.

Rachel, your best bet is to try Facebook or 192.com.
You could do with a middle initial, but with the possible variables in name and birth year, and no birthplace, I think it is impossible to find his birth record.
If you have an address for him it would be possible to search electoral register to ascertain his exact name, though this is not searchable online.

Thankyou! I have tried Facebook but with no success, unfortunately. And he usnt on Linked In. I know the exact company he used to work for, but I don't think they would be able to help me due to confidentiality issues, or would they?
He is my dad but he left about 20 years ago.

They have changed the Friends Reunited site, so not sure how easy this would be, but you might try searching for the company and see if anyone has them as their workplace. It's so recent that there might also be fellow employees on there who know of him
I would contact the company anyway, what have you got to lose? They might be willing to forward a letter to any address they still hold.
Have you any idea who he married or when his child was born?

Thanks. Great idea! No, unfortunately its not something im really allowed to talk about. We've only talked about it once so that's all I know. I am apprehensive though about getting in touch as he probably hasn't told his wife/family about the past. That's why I wanted to find someone who knows him so they cqn introduce it to him slowly. I will try friends reunited now. If I rang up the company-I'm guessing they wouldnt be able to give me his details, would they?

They won't give you his details - well, you wouldn't expect it really would you? There might be a colleague who remembers him, but I appreciate you need to tread extremely carefully. To be honest, I might be inclined to gloss over the truth as if you go down this route, their last thing you want is for word to get back to him about you trying to find him, before you are ready for this.
Personally I would try the Friends Reunited site first. What a pity you have no address. Apart from anything else, you could really do with finding out his exact name.
You are right, this is really tricky. I wonder if you could use a bit of advice as to how to proceed?

I tried Friends Reunited but nothing came of it :( I've been trying to find him for 8 years now. Perhaps its just not meant to be. A work colleague suggested the telephone directory, but it is quite forward to ring someone out of the blue.. And no, I didnt expect them to give out information! I'm just desperate ha.

And no I dont know any other friends or family. I know that his mother looked after me at weekends and I think he supported Preston North End football.
