The inquest was probably opened on 27 Jan, but it can take months (sometimes years) to conclude an inquest, and until it is concluded the death cert is not issued - the family receive an interim death cert to enable burial. (my father died & was buried in 1980 but his death wasn't registered until late 1981 due to the inquest). What date was David's burial (I see the death registration was submitted Q4 1993), so if the death date is correct the inquest must have concluded in that quarter. |

Hello Rachel, Flip asked me to check out the newspaper archives. Unfortunately, the British Newspaper Archives only go up to 1963 so I'm unable to help on this one. Sorry. |

Had another look, I think the parents may have stayed local - there is a death for Hazel Florence Evans in Feb.1990 reg Pontypool, gives her dob as 9/2/1931, which could match with this birth: |

Do a bit more pumping for info - it may help to know if Karen was already married when the baby was born or did she get married later? |

90% sure she was married before having the baby! Think she had connections with glouster pretty sure she named the baby andrew! We really dont have much info on any of them :( |

Well, that would narrow down the date for a marriage 1977 - 1983. There are only 3 Karen H marriages during that period, 2 of the marriages did not have a son Andrew. The third marriage was to another Evans (nightmare) , which I think is the most likely but looking for an Evan/Evans birth is not easy. |

2 of the 3 potential re-marriages for Karen can be ruled out as they are found with husbands on the ERs and too young for your Karen. That only leaves 1, but again it is to an Evans. These details have also been sent by PM. |

Thanks Rachel & Gareth, glad to have helped - although you've done most of it yourselves, I just pointed you in the possible directions to research. :-) |
