Have you done anything about trying to find whether he could have descendants?

Looking for a marriage on freebmd would be a good place to start

If he didn't marry, there could be no legitimate descendants

If you are comming up to Yorkshire try Northallerton records office

Also Ripon has an old Police Station which is now a museum they have old uniforms and you can look in the cells and loads of old pic's and memobilia

Thanks Kira,tried that but no ans from some..I know he was policeman in Yorkshire even have copy of photo of him in uniform...Just thought I,d try and trace family as I am visiting Yorkshire in July for couple days..But hey cant win em all... :-)

I am trying to find descendants of this chap.He was born in Alderton,Gloucs.At some stage of early 1900,s[ish] he moved to Yorkshire and became a Policeman.I assume its the west riding as other members of the family moved there..Hope someone can help as he must have descendants there somewhere...???? :-D
