I have also been informed that Mr David Hopkins my biological father may quite possibley be living in Jersey :-| so now I need to figure out what to do next, until I find out wether I am on the right track regarding my grandmothers maiden name I'm not sure what to do now :-S

I dont know where you found this birth in 1917, because I cannot see any born in Wales

The marriage in 1941 was to a David so those two children look possable with David being Williams middle name?

There were two older sisters have you looked into them?

I didn't even know there were any sisters or even how to go about finding them. I'm totaly clueless regarding the searches and conecting people on here. That was the one I found William David Hopkins born 1949. There is also a John Hopkins born 1954 mothers maiden name also Black.
Asfar as possible grandmothers dob I just typed in search bar catherin hopkins dob 1928 give or take 10 years in wales and thats what it gave me.
I have also run out of credits :-(

One born 1941 and the other 1945 which would make sense rather than being married 8 years before the first child

The one born 1945 is in someones tree called Sophie

You would not find her birth under Hopkins...she was a Black when she was born and you dont know she was born in Wales she could have been born Scotland or Ireland?

Ooops! I meant Black. Do the 1941 and 1945 births have Catherine m Black as mothers maiden name? I will look on the link you have posted thank you. My mum was 16 when she concived me in 1975 so if that is the case my father could be around 70 :-S

the freebdm search is even more confusing although it did give me one match for a marriage between Mr Hopkins and Miss Black

You cannot tell if her name was Catherine, but there are no other marriages that I can see in that area

I'm a bit confused as to some of your facts - David Hopkins willingly paid maintainance....even after you were adopted? Unlikely

Was there a maintainance order? What address is on it?
Was he involved in the adoption? Did he consent? again what address?

Maybe try friends reunited. What schol might he have gone to? your mother was young - did they attend school together? if so,is he listed on the school page on Friends reunited?

I was born in 1976 my adoption didn't take place till 1984 so maintenance was paid, as far as wether he consented to the adoption I am unsure if he was informed as my mother and stefather moved away before the adoption.
Due to the fact that my adoption took place in Wales Iam not allowed by law to have fathers last known address or full name. I know his name because my mother told me. I found last know address by searching through the electoral roll for 1975 as I know he his mother and brother were living in one of the two tower block flats.
The address is 81 Hazel Court Sketty Swansea. The tower block is no longer there.
My mother was 16 when she became pregnant with me, my father is older he was atleast 25 at time of conseption. My mother was living in Cydach and father in Sketty at the time

Still no closer to finding my birth father. Forever seem to be hitting my head against a brick wall!

I'm a bit confused, you sent me a pm saying the contact details of his sister I sent you were correct does she not know the where abouts of your father?

Yes they are correct but he moved to jersey years ago and moved again and they lost touch. She said she would get intouch with her older sister to see if she has any information and photos
