Thank you for your help detective. Ive never done this before and am slowly gathering some info together. Is it ok to just randomly write (snail Mail!!) to someone telling them that you may be related to them? I just dont want to intrude or bother people but i need to find answers. Thank you again! :) |

Well, its probably best to just say that you are tracing your family history, and wonder if they share the same (grandparent). I certainly wouldn't jump in and say your are more closely related. If the person you are writing to is elderly, suggest they show the letter to a close relative or trusted friend. Its often a good idea to say that if they decide not to reply, you will respect their privacy and not attempt to conact them again. |
