My Grandparents Patrick and Bridget Doody were out there from Dublin to assist my grandmother's sister - my grandmother Bridget Doody (nee Rowley) My uncle and aunt Michael and daughter Kathleen born there. My Mother born in Dublin (Patricia) travelled with them, she was 3 or 4 then. They then went on to China were my grandfather was to work. Any Rowley's from Canada please do get in touch.I was adopted myself (1945) and only last year found my Irish side of the family. At 65 for the first time seeing photographs of my Mother and grandparents. Gifts beyond compare <3 . A contact from Genes Reunited has just passed on this information and I very grateful. Michael Doody (RIP) is dedicated on the Canadian War Dead site. Name Regiment Rank Death MICHAEL DOODY Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Fusilier April 18, 1942

I'm not sure how you could have Rowley relatives in Canada? Your grandmother's maiden name was Rowley but her children were Doody.

Yor grandmother's sister was a Rowley but if she married her children would have a different surname.

Or am I reading it wrong?

You are right and wrong ! My grandmother went out to assist a sister, her sister was a Rowley (maiden name) no doubt she was married (but unsure - but in those days more than likeley) and yes her children would only have Rowley in an Ancesty context. But it is a line of enquiry. In searching we often have to take detours. Many Thanks for you input.

But you did ask for Rowleys in Canada and unless grandmother's sister had children before she was married you wouldn't have any Rowley relatives in Canada.

What was grandmother's sister's name?
