There is information pertaining to a--
Juanita Gill in the Australian Archives, Section J-25.....1973/10526--Brisbane. Not been Examined..?
What these refer to it doesnt say but nothing to indicate migration records from UK.
Edit,,,,,possibly a name search on friendsreunited could shed light on this person.

Hi Patchem
Sorry for taking so long in reply - Christmas & all That -
As far as I know No spanish or South American connection - maybe they saw the name somewhere and liked it ?
Am looking at the Nellie Watts/Gill line in Devon/Cornwall will let you know if I come up with anything else - Thanks - Jean

Just thinking completely at a tangent, but why Juanita? Any Spanish or South American connections? Or was it just after a silent movies film star?

On the emigration front the most common destination during the late 1950's and 1960's was Australia. I have looked at the Australian Electoral Registers up to 1980 for a Marilyn Gill living with a James Gill but I have drawn a blank.
Your next best line of attack is to pursue James Frances Gill via his fathers details as indicated on his marriage certificate. The 1928 birth registration of a James F Gill shows a mothers maiden name of Watts. See if you can discover a Gill/Watts marriage and then check the name of the groom to see if that matches the name of the father shown on the Gill/Croft marriage certificate.
If it does you will need copies of the 1928 birth certificate and of the Gill/Watts marriage certificates to see whether Gill Snr's occupation ties in.
Good luck.

Hi All Thank you for replying to me - sorry for inconvience as I am new to this forum.
Juanita Ann Frances Gill - William Douglas Gill
First they were born in the Hammersmith area London she in 1954 he in 1955 Parents Marilyn Croft and James Francis Gill - they married in 1953 in Croydon Surrey - he was said to have been 24 years old on the MC the address for both on the MC was the same so can't trace him that way - the only James Frances Gill who was born 1928-29 in the UK that I can find was in Exeter Devon. Marilyn was born 1932 Wandsworth
They seemed to have vanished after 1960 - I think they may have imigrated - but hard to find after 1960 -
I am helping my cousin to find her family members - Any help or advice appreciated - Thanks Jean
