I am searching for my mum's schoolfriend Molly Gillard born in 1934 from Wincanton Somerset...................I have found her on lists on this site but don't know what to do next.

If you have access to current address's Fairthorn, why not offer to do look ups to save the rest of us giving advice on where to look,then you coming back to say

I agree with Flick....As I see it... a new poster will recieve an email saying she has a message and may not bother to come back to the thread in most cases

I rarely look at the board as I am uncertain about the practice of sending out information re people's names, addresses and phone numbers - willy nilly so to speak.


As someone who has spent several years pm'ing people on how to return to their threads, I agree with both Flick and jax..........if new people are constantly pm'd with info, they will never learn how to use these boards.



In this case, I doubt that Sarah is really interested in genealogy but, in other cases, there are new members to whom this may be the beginning of a new hobby.
