I found out a few years ago that my Grandfather was not my real Grandfather. I have my real Grandfathers name, and have found him as an infant with brothers and found he married and had a child, well I think. I need a little help as to how I can find out for sure. My real Grandfather was called Edward Bowler, and I think he married a Lillan Smeed in 1920. Help!

You need to be 100% certain that you follow the correct line, or you could end up with real problems.

When and where was he born?

Who was his father?

Buy the cert of the 1920 marriage to ensure that the father's details match.........and that the groom's age is consistent with his birth details

There were three possible children from the marriage of Edward Bowler and Lillian Smeed.
