I am searching for the family of farmer Jack Gordon Brookes, dob 23/11/1917, married to Grace. They had a daughter Jennifer born 1945 and son Roger born 1949. Last trace is 1981 living in Birkenhead, NZ. My father and Jack were good friends in the 2nd WW in Africa together. I have correspondence between them including a request to my parents to be god parents to Roger! I do hope I can find some connection to them to report back to my elderly father.

Unfortunately nothing in the trees. I should have added in my posting that Jack was a New Zealander and returned there in about 1943 to start his farm.

then when you get search results over on the left click on

Pages from New Zealand

there is a Roger Brookes who is an estate agent,

one who is a Justice of the Peace

one of them is listed here by full first name

and if you search for Brookes in Birkenhead there is an RW

no harm in contacting them to enquire :-)

Researching:
the 'Walking Madonna' at Salisbury Cathedral ... if genes members find your family do thank them by name on the Success Stories board !
