She cut herself off from the family when she was a teenager, and I only have rumours after that (and the hard copy evidence of marriage/divorce records etc). Rumours have her in a few places around the uk, so I may end up going around the individual reg offices (that'll be fun!). As for the children, again, I have no confirmed names numbers, but I do have a possible name of Michael Gillon. I have no idea of a birth date or location, nor if there are other children, but I'll certainly go more into that line of enquiry. I've been looking for an Andrew Fairgrieve recently, but no-one seems to be searching him either.... I certainly do pick 'em. |

If she died between 2006 and now she would not show on the online death index yet. |

Trouble is, I can't find her on the Electoral Roll - this is a challenge! |

The Electoral Roll will just show the person's address as being that of the Care Home |

Would anyone know if there's a way to find out if someone's in a care home or similar? It may explain why I can't find a phone number or voting registration. |

It is always possible that Shirley married again (although it would be her third time around, and I'm not sure she'd be daft enough to do that - you never know!). I can't find any records of divorce on the NAS, nor any further marriages using any of her 3 surnames on either Scotland's people or find my past sites. |

Have you looked in 'search trees', to see if anyone else is researching her? |

Could she have married again maybe? |

Shirley was born in the Lothian's (Dunbar or Stow areas), Scotland in November 1934. She married Ian (john) Gillon in South Queensferry and later Andrew Fairgrieve in Edinburgh. I know Andrew died in the eighties, but have no idea if Shirley was still with him (not listed on his death cert). Rumours have it that she moved to Trafford Park in Manchester, but again, i have nothing substantial. Any help? |
