Kandj, I am so sorry to hear about your hubby being so unwell. You take care of yourself and I hope your hubby will be feeling better soon. We will miss your chats so do come back when you are able. <3 <3 <3

That is very good news Vera. Enjoy the butterflies in your garden.

I won't be posting for couple of weeks as we have just come back from A&E.
Hubby is far from well and so my Carer's role will increase greatly. Take care all.

Very pleased today; the butterflies have found my mini buddleias :-D. They seem particularly keen on the red one. Lots of painted ladies and a couple of red admirals. I hope it continues

Glad you got the photo on in the end bless her.

SuffolkVera Report 9 Sep 2016 20:45

Picture changed :-D

I won't leave this one up for long as it's not a particularly good photo. I just happened to be taking some garden photos as Mitzi walked up a side path so I just quickly snapped her. I think it was taken in June this year.

OH rang the cattery this morning to tell them and they were quite upset. She has been going there regularly since she was a little kitten and they had grown very fond of her.

Not much life in the garden today though one of our security lights kept coming on during the night so there was certainly an animal walking in and out of our garden. It was probably a neighbourhood cat.

No good asking me as I don't have an ipad....... no kidding!! No kindle either!!
Just no young things living near enough to shout HELP to and hubby is much worse than I am.

Ann's instructions sound simple enough to do Vera, so Good Luck and perhaps
we will see Mitzi as your avatar very soon

The robin appeared briefly again today, still mainly starlings and pigeons though..

Now why didn't think of that? Thanks Ann

I usually give up on the Ipad when doing anything like that, it either takes for ever or doesn't work. If you want to use the photo on your IPad, email it to yourself, you can then download it to your main pc.

SuffolkVera Report 8 Sep 2016 17:49

I was attempting to change my profile picture on my iPad, which I am sure I have done before, but I think that is where the problem lay. Just tried it on the PC and it changed straight away. Unfortunately the picture of Mitzi that I was going to put on is only on the iPad. Never mind - at least I have an avatar again :-D

SuffolkVera Report 8 Sep 2016 16:18

Ann and Kandj, I have pressed Save before Upload, after Upload, before AND after Upload......I feel as though I am hitting my head on a brick wall. I get messages saying my profile picture has changed and my personal details have been saved, but I still have a blank avatar :-. I have changed the picture several times before with no problem. If I can't get it working soon I will contact support but goodness knows if I will get a sensible answer from them.

We are coming to terms with losing Mitzi. It was just a shock having to make a sudden decision over the phone and I was upset at not being with her at the end. Now we have had time to reflect I think it was the right decision. It does feel very strange though. This morning I got up, put the kettle on and, as always, opened the door to the utility room, her "bedroom", expecting her to come and say hello as she always did first thing in the morning. It felt wrong when I remembered she wasn't there.

EDIT Just noticed my emoticons don't appear to be working either!

Please don't look to me for IT advice Vera but do give Ann's suggestion a try and
I hope that it will work for you. I just make do with the blank image as usual
I hope that you are coming to terms with days without Mitzi. It is sure to be strange..

Jane and hubby will be well on their way to Pembroke shire now. I hope they have
a safe journey and a relaxing time together. The are some lovely walks in that area.

I have just filled up the feeders and topped up both bird baths. It's humid here today.

Did you maybe forget to scroll down and press save after the picture had loaded Vera?

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 8 Sep 2016 08:27

Thank you everyone for your sympathy. I tried to put a picture of Mitzi as my avatar but all the system has done is remove my old picture without putting the new picture up. I might try again later.

Enjoy yourself in Pembrokeshire Jane. We've had a couple of good self catering weeks there and liked the area very much.

Jane Report 7 Sep 2016 21:52

Ann,we have had visitors .One lot from S Africa and the second from Washington DC.Hence the reason for me not getting on the thread.I thought I had LOL but maybe I just didn't press the submit key !!!.It has been all go here for the last couple of weeks.
Now I am looking forward to getting away and seeing Pembrokeshire and the coast :-D

I see I did post on the 1st :-D.I just feel ready to drop into bed now after a hectic day.Shopping done,Packing done ,the cat taken to the cattery and dinner finally done.
Tomorrow morning will be packing up the car and having a quick clean around the house then we will be off :-D..
My Daughter will be staying here while we are away so she will be in charge of filling the window feeder. My Son is going to Scotland with his girlfriend.
My daughter would have been happy looking after Thomas ,but couldn't cope with him bringing Rabbits and Mice.So the Cattery it is.I have no worries about him there as he has a good sized accommodation and the Lady who looks after him is great. It is a very small cattery (8-10 cats). His neighbour is called Mr Jiggs :-D
Time for bed.

Oh Vera, I am so sorry to see this news..You have made the right decision ,she would have known nothing.I had to make a decision like you when our old cat was still under anaesthetic. She will always have a place in your heart <3

Off to Pembrokeshire tomorrow. So I will not be posting for a while (unless I take my laptop with me) :-)
