Really chuffed as I have had our first ever(seen that is) Nuthatch on the feeder. I have also had the great pleasure of seeing a tree rat (squirrel) attempting to shin up the pole of the feeding station which I have liberally coated with petroleum jelly. That foiled the little B****r :-D :-D :-D |

Much more of this rain and Jude will need more than wellies - lots of sandbags and a rowing boat come to mind. |

Aww such a shame more houses gone up, but spose we need them!!...We also have aprox 60 ducks every morning to feed, (sometimes more) Vic is in his element , he nearly treads on them though. We have the woods at the bottom of the garden so we get loads of birds from there, feeders are every where for them from our 4 houses in the corner..:) |

Afternoon to you. I thought my eyes were deceiving me. You are lucky with all the birds and wildlife that you see. Our birds deserted us at the end of the summer when some of the big fields were all dug up and hedges grubbed out ready for a huge new estate to be built :-( :-( I am sure it is no coincidence that the birds disappeared as probably that is where they were used to roosting. Hopefully they will come back, we have sen signs of them returning. |

What has happened to the birds? I put out some mealworms yesterday and they are still there. Usually either a robin or the starlings are on them as soon as I put them out. |

We have nowhere near as many as we had Vera. We do have some great and blue tits and a few collard doves oh and some sparrows but no blackbirds, robins, goldfinches yet. Hopefully they will return with the cold weather. |

I have hardly seen a bird lately. I filled feeders just before we went away for a few days and they have only gone down a little bit. Presumably they are still finding enough to eat elsewhere but I haven’t even noticed them flying across the garden. We are a bird free zone :-( |

The swallows have gone! One minute they were flying round and round our bungalow like little fighter planes, by evening, they'd gathered on the wires, the following day they'd gone! We just hope they'll be ok and return safely next summer! :-\ :-) |

Our visitor goes after the pigeons too which I am grateful for as they are getting to be a noisy nuisance in this area. |
