Here I am and my thanks to Jane for the updates. Hubby is coming home today!!!!!
There have been times during this past month when Helen and I have doubted this would happen.... BUT..... I am getting sorted and will be like a cat on a hot tin roof until the hospital transport brings him back where he belongs, so we can relax together.

Very many thanks to you all for thoughts, prayers and kind words of encouragement which have been appreciated and really helped at a very challenging few weeks. xxxx

A phone call from the ward Sister this morning saying Hubby is clear of the MRSA..... phew..... prayers heard and answered and a brilliant start to today. YEAHHHHHH

Tuesday was a difficult day that both of us would rather not think about but yesterday was a good and positive day as the Physio is going so well in getting hubby back onto his feet and walking safely which is giving him his confidence back.

I think perhaps we have turned the corner...... shhhh.... I daren't say that too loudly but here's hoping for another move forward when I go to be with hubby after lunch.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. It really has made a difficult time that little bit easier and greatly appreciated.

Ann our Bay Tree must be getting on for 20ft !!!!. It is huge. When we moved into this house we brought it with us in a little pot. That was in 1991. A few years ago we had tree surgeons in to do our hedge and take down a couple of trees and they were amazed at the Bay tree and said how nice it was to see one growing naturally and not 'shaped' .It is quite a feature in our garden.

I have an Amaryllis on my window sill. I put it there just less than a fortnight ago and it has grown about 15/16 inches already. Since yesterday it has grown another couple of inches!!! I hope if flowers soon otherwise it is going to look ridiculous!!

I hope that Kandj has had a good visit today with her Hubby and that he will soon be clear of this darned MRSA. <3

These cold nights are good for Thomas .He is in nice and early
:-D :-D Or maybe I should say good for me as I dont need to be out late at night trying to entice him in :-)

Update from Kandj
Her Hubby is in his single room because of having MRSA,but he has his own bathroom which is nice as Kandj helps him with his personal care. She stays with him from 3 until 8 .Once the MRSA has cleared he will be able to join some others for meals which will be good. Hopefully he will soon begin to gain more strength and can look forward to getting back home again, maybe in time for Xmas. Now that would be the best present for Kandj :-D :-D

I dont think I have seen a Hawk around our garden for a long time now. There are certainly plenty of Pigeons though. They seem to be enjoying the huge Bay Tree down the garden. There are hundreds of tiny black berries so am quessing that is what they are after. Lots of squabbles on the Window feeder :-S

No news from Kandj over the weekend.I hope everything is ok. She probably has the family there at the moment.. <3 <3 Kandj

There are plenty of pigeons around here and they seem to find them easier to catch or meatier LOL it seems to be them they mainly go for. My cat stalks the squirrel but has not caught the damn thing yet
:-D

AnninGlos Report 26 Nov 2017 16:19

Pity the hawk can't catch the squirrel LG and solve that problem. Yes hawks are wonderful hunters, Just wish they wouldn't scare all the little birds off. However, that is nature and they have to eat.

LaGooner Report 26 Nov 2017 09:11

Morning all, the Hawk was here yesterday and we have pigeon feathers and bits all over the place. We saw it swoop late yesterday afternoon and it caught it's prey just above our roof before bringing it down. What a brilliant hunter they are. The damn squirrel has broken through the mesh inside my so called squirrel proof feeder even though I thought I had moved it far enough from the fence to stop it jumping on. :-| :-| :-| :-|

Vera, birds are in very short supply here, although we have heard that a sparrow hawk has been seen around, maybe that is the answer. We have had two male blackbirds in the garden the last couple of days, a few blue tits and a pair of coal tits and the robin was following OH around when he was out there a couple of days ago.

Afternoon all. A very frosty start this morning, however, we went out to Sainsbury's on the Cheltenham outskirts for coffee, newspapers and, wow that was lucky, all their clothes at 25% off. So a pair of corded tracksuit style trousers for indoor use and a polo sweater in an orange/rust colour which goes with other things I already have. then a quick visit and a few bits in Hobbycraft and a visit and a rumage around in Home Sense, managed to find two small Christmas tree presents for Grandchildren, very inexpensive. Was tempted by all the pretty glittery glass type tree ornaments but didn't succomb.

Next stop was the Beef eater pub, we had a 40% off mains voucher so had a very nice lunch off their festive menu. We shared a duck pate to start, then both had fillet steak, bacon, mushroom sauce, triple cooked chips and crispy onion bits, then shared a Christmas pudding and custard. It was beautifully cooked, we had two small (175) glasses of red wine. The only problem was it is a large area and it was a bit chilly in the restaurant. But the service was excellent and, with the wine the whole bill only came to £26 (The wine came to £8.) A really nice way to spend a couple of hours on a cold Saturday.

Came back to our letters re the Fuel payment on the door mat!! :-) :-)

A good couple of days for birds. Yesterday there was a solitary goldfinch fluttering about on a blueberry shrub in a pot right by the back door and today there was not one, but two, jays :-D I'm not sure if they were a "pair" or not but I was really pleased to see them.

How much more can life throw at you Kandj? It must be dreadful for your poor hubby and very stressful for you and your family. We are all thinking of you. Sending you an extra gentle (((((((hug))))))) <3
