No sun ???? Oh Jane !!!!

Don't like to rub it in but we have hardly had a cloud in the sky, went to the beach earlier and I have been sitting in the garden but had to come in to cool down. Sorry.

The thug used to like a good bonfire but since his blinking hedge, including the Blackthorn has grown so much, he has lost that space.

There would be a lovely sunny afternoon or evening and he would get it going, nearly set fire to the soft top of the car we had at one time. It never occurred to him that the end of his garden is right by our patio and under the bedroom windows.

Well maybe it did, he wouldn't care anyway. There's a thought, if it wasn't for our fence, we could have one and accidentally set fire to the Blackthorn.

Ooh don't mention bonfires :-S.My next door neighbour who has a couple of acres has a bonfire just at the back of our fence at the bottom of our garden.I am pretty sure it is general household rubbish that is being burnt as the smell is just atrocious. We think it must be plastic burning which gives off a toxic kind of pong.It gets into the house and into the back of the throat.
Is it illegal to burn stuff like that? We keep putting off saying something about it to them,I think partly because they are quite odd and never like being questioned or challenged about anything.I fell out once when I discovered they had left a Rabbit in a cage in the garden when they went away for 5 days.It was below zero ,the hutch stank and hadn't been cleaned for ages ,the water was frozen solid in the drink bottle and it had no food !!!!!!.So I cleaned it out and put new newspaper and Hay in and bought food.I asked why they didn't mention the rabbit when I was to feed the Peacock, and the answer was that they forgot :-S :-S.I was so angry and said that they could have been prosecuted for abandoning an animal. She turned to her OH and said...." I think we have just been told off" !!!!!!!!!!!!..Then later I found an envelope through my door with £5 in and a note just saying for food and Hay...and that was it :-S :-S....How rude and ungrateful.

I have had the family of young Gt Tits all on the feeder again.I think there are about 6 of them, but only 4 at a time have been on the feeder together.I don't think there is enough room for them all lol

So are you ready for the off then Ann? We haven't put our cases away from Antwerp as we are going to Paris for my Birthday in about 3 weeks.Your bags must be close to hand all the time with all your trips :-D

We haven't had one bit of sun at all today :-|

Not music in this area but we do have a bonfire adict, he usually lights up in the afternoon on a sunny day.

I am busy packing but having a rest at the moment. Off to the Lake District tomorrow.

Enjoy your sunny weekend Maryanna. Lovely to watch the bats fly. Not so sure about Gulls at midnight, maybe it was the full moon. :-D

Maryanna

Maryanna Report 14 Jun 2014 11:18

Don't know what was going on last night but the Gulls decided to wake up around midnight and make a racket for an hour or more.

Himself didn't hear a thing, not surprising, the only reason I was awake in the first place was because of the racket HE was making. Daughter in Laws mother said they were noisy on Wednesday night as well.

Can't recall hearing them at that time of night before, even in mid summer.

Makes a change from Magpies !!!

Watched the Bat program last night and then sat in the garden for a while and watched the bats going round and round the courtyard. Only two or three luckily, not the thousands they were watching.

A lovely seasidey day here in Somerset. Not a cloud in the sky. Just waiting for eldest son to get back from shopping in Taunton and he will join us. Daughter and baby coming down for the weekend as well leaving son in law in charge back in Surrey as he is working all weekend.

Why is it though when you get a nice day some people feel it necessary to bombard everyone else with their choice ( usually awful ) of very loud music ???????

Have a lovely time Ann.

M. :-)

Now that is an idea :-D....Might just make them think twice about leaving their 'beloved' dogs in a furnace.
The air has gone so still here now .Not a breath of air at all and all the bugs have come out.I have come in as I cannot be bitten any more .I still have loads of Mozzy bites from Antwerp which continue to itch :-S..OH is calling me Septic Sid and Cough Drop. :-| :-|..He loves me really lol

Don't you just want to turn the table on people that leave their dogs in scorching hot cars :-| let the dog out and shut the owner in I say.

I agree with you re dogs Jane stupid and wicked.

I hope we don't get too much as OH is aiming to cut the lawn before we go away.

Jane

Jane Report 13 Jun 2014 17:58

Oh God Ann.Why do these people take their dogs to these places and just leave them in the cars.People down the lane from me who are actually very 'sensible' and caring people when it comes to animals did just that a couple of years ago and left their lovely black labrador .The poor thing died :-( :-(.They were so ashamed that they had been so foolish, and will never have another dog now.
I think people should be prosecuted.I remember a few years ago when a lorry full of I think St Bernards were left in a car park at a service station or something and about 12 of the dogs died.I am on my soap box now ,but it is just common sense ....you do not leave an animal in a car in heat !!!!!
When I had my dog Chester if it was a hot day I would leave a fan on in the lounge just for him and pull the curtains............Right I have got that off my chest now :-)

it is feeling a bit on the muggy side now and i think we could be in for some rain tonight. The garden will be grateful that's for sure :-D

Well Jane, if your weather changes on Sunday you will know why.

We are just back from the 3 Counties show at Malvern. A really good if hot and tiring day, got there at 0945 and left at 2.30pm. and I am sure we still didn't see all of it. We certainly missed some of the ring events.

However it was appalling to hear an announcement that they were having to break into cars to rescue dogs left. No dogs allowed in the showground because of all the animals, except for those doing the agility and obedience shows/classes.

If anyone watched BGT we had three of the Bold Dog motorcycle team there, they are really fearless.

Oh Ann I hate to hear a thump on the windows. It is usually the Patio Door or the kitchen window. Then I dread going outside to see what might be lying on the ground. The last bird here to do that and sadly die was a beautiful Mistle Thrush :-(

Maryanna ,thats unfortunate having all those Mole Hills on your lawn :-S.I must say I haven't noticed any around recently .Mind you I do go around with my eyes shut sometimes so there could be millions lol

Off to have a look at Judes pics now.....You off again Ann????

Aaaw we had a fatality in the garden this morning. I was putting the whirl line up for the washing and I heard a lot of sparrow twittering past. When I went to go back in to fetch the washing, there was a young one lyine on the path. It must have flown straight into the conservatory window. Strange because the doors were wide open so the glass wasn't clear because the sliding doors were across it. I thought it might be stunned at first so laid it in the shade. But it was dead. Poor little thing, didn't have a very long life did it? :-( :-(

Maryanna ,I feel fine now thanks ,just got this blasted cough :-S.It was so embarrassing at times when I had the cough/choking episodes .

Jude ,no Moles :-D.I think you must remember the time the Moorhen was walking on top of and disappearing into our big Yew hedge, and then there were about 5 babies.
