A very exciting year for your family Maryanna. The new littlies will almost be like twins. Do the parents live near to one another and to you too?

A beautiful sunny day today. Usual birds have been on the ground feeder and window feeder as well. They left poo marks on two windows, but all cleaned and sparkling now

That's right Jane, he should be here in three or maybe four weeks. Certainly before November 2nd.

Have got a thread in General Chat but in case you haven't seen.

We have just come back from The Musgrove in Taunton.

She is very sweet, seems so tiny, looks a bit like our " eldest. " Grand daughter, our youngest son and our daughter. It will be interesting to see how she changes as the days go on.

They should be coming home tomorrow morning.

I have some exciting news. My daughter in law had her baby in the early hours.

Both are doing well and should be home later today.

Can't wait to meet her.

At the moment all I can bear is the sound of the balls on the pool table plus much laughter as Granddad plays pool with the grandsons and partners. We have just been for a meal and just got back at1030, daughter OH and myself. Granddaughter inlaw said as we came through the doir. 'What time do you call this, it is last your bedtime?

Thanks Ann. You are very wise not to advertise the fact that you are away from home. I'm sure you know that your "secret" is safe with us all. Not sure if we wanted to know about the sunshine though, but having your family with you both is a real bonus.Enjoy!

Another rainy, chilly day again here today and the birds are staying away from the window and ground feeders this morning. Perhaps they are not liking it dark and wet?

I try not to draw attention to it but we are in Lanzarote, 3 generations, daughter, 2 of the grandsons and partners and us in a beautiful villa, really big and with a small pool. And it was really hot today, about 30.

Wet, cold and not very good today, it is forecast to be the same until perhaps Thursday.

Your day out with your husband sounded lovely Vera and buying two gifts a bonus.
Christmas will be here before we know it. Is is only me that thinks this year is flying by?

Jane, I also thought I'd missed Ann saying she was off on her travels again. Wherever Ann and OH are, it is sure to be warmer and dryer that here. Hope they enjoy it all.

Nice day out then Vera :-D...I'm glad all the Starlings are in Felixstowe and not here :-D.There aren't many good days left now by the sound of it.Maybe just 2 more before the weather changes.I would love to have a walk on the coast.Just a pity we are SO far away from it :-(..I really miss the sea.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 2 Oct 2015 18:12

I know where all the starlings are. They're at Felixstowe.

It was such a lovely day that I persuaded OH to leave the computer and have a day out so we went to Felixstowe. We walked a long way along the seafront so I am a bit stiff now. It was a bit nippy walking into the wind so I was glad I had taken a fleece but it really was a beautiful day. Part way along the front was an area absolutely full of starlings. They were wheeling in a big flock in the sky and lining up on the wires of the seaside strings of lights as well as gathering on the grass. They all looked to be this year's broods and some of them looked very young.

We also wandered into town and found two lovely shops, one selling locally made craft goods and the other had some unusual gifts so we got a birthday present for a friend in one and a Christmas present for someone in the other.

It's been a really good day :-D :-D

I don't think there is any telling Thomas LOL.He is off now on the hunt :-S.No wonder he doesn't eat much cat food.
There are still plenty of birds around (despite Thomas). The Green Woodpecker is a frequent visitor at the moment and I am definitely seeing more Robins around now.
We did have lots of Blackbirds but not so many right now.
I heard an Owl the other day ,and it was about 10am !!!!.I just couldn't work out where it was.
The sun is still shining and a totally clear blue sky.Cold night I think.OH has just put a jumper on to sit in the summerhouse to read his book.

SuffolkVera Report 1 Oct 2015 16:31

I think I started celebrating too soon. Apart from one or two blackbirds I have hardly seen a bird in the garden since the long tailed tits came and went. :-(. I have put another feeder out now and filled this one with peanuts. Perhaps if they get used to seeing food in the garden they will visit more when the winter comes and it is harder for them to find their food naturally.

Jane, you will have to give Thomas a firm talking-to or you will have no wildlife left in your neck of the woods!
