And I missed them again, just got in from shopping for food, OH was in the conservatory and saw a flock of long tailed tits on the coconut but couldn't call me because of disturbing them, so I missed them! Just one starling on the coconut when I looked :-D

I just seemed to have duplicates of everything with some 4/5 years out of date so not used. I think I shall drop the bag in the chemist and hide my face.

Amazing what you accumulate isn't it?

I did see a robin yesterday but it seems to be mostly collared doves the moment.

AnninGlos Report 24 Nov 2015 21:34

Just me here then all busy Christmas shopping I guess. I actually got around to emptying out the medicine etc cabinet today and now have a baf full of out of date stuff for the chemist.nand goodness knows why I have four boxes of elastoplasts!

Not many birds today. We did have a robin and a blackbird in the apple tree and a few Great tits but not much else.

Very dsgruntled birda round this morning, a frost and empty feeders so T was out there before breakfast filling the feeders.

Lucas is still AWOL little monster!! She did have her hopes raised as somebody called her to say there was a black cat roaming around. She went to see it but it wasn’t Lucas.

We are back home again now in a warm house. One load of washing done, another to do tomorrow. We had a long journey home yesterday, the traffic was horrendous, goodness knows where everyone was going to or from, then a caravan overturned between junctions 19 and 18 on the M6 south there was a huge tail back so, as the traffic stopped at J19 and we had just got there we detoured across country and rejoined at J 17, took a while but we stopped for coffee before rejoining the motorway. I think the journey took us 30 minutes longer than normal. Luckily it was dry and sunny. it is very strange but there always seem to be hold ups between junctions 17 and 19. And often accidents on that stretch as well.

I now have to get my brain engaged and get on with Christmas which has sort of been put on the back burner while we were up there. I have more or less bought all my presents and almost finished my cards, just have to write them now, the address labels are printed off and waiting. On 5th December we are going to Hampshire for one night, staying in a B&B and seeing my sister with her presents on the Saturday then going to see Luke on the Sunday before driving home. Luke is a big boy now and chattering away, he is looking forward to having a baby brother in February.

So the wrapping of presents will have to start this week. And next week is probably when the new bathroom will be started, not looking forward to that. :-) :-)

Fingers crossed Ann that Lucas will show up alive and well at your daughter's home.

We have had quite a lot of seagulls here today. I think that is a sign of bad weather?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 21 Nov 2015 19:47

Yes, it is frustrating that we have not heard any more so we just have to hope.

kandj Report 21 Nov 2015 19:25

I hope that Lucas can be re-united back with your daughter and her other cat Ann.
Try not to think that he has been harmed in any way, that would be too awful after all that your daughter has been through this past year.

AnninGlos Report 21 Nov 2015 18:06

Well, we have heard via an ex genes member on face book, who has heard via another facebook friend that somebody has found Lucas. However so far that is all we know, we have passed on daughters phone number, that was this morning, and have not heard any more. So fingers crossed hopefully she will soon hear more. Unfortunately nobody has said if he is alive :-S

Yes Jane she has let her friend know who cleans the apartments. She has put notes through doors in this road, bills in two shops and contacted all vets and RSPCA. It is freezing here today and although it was sunny earlier it is now chucking it down and gone dark. Still BT have been and we are back on line so far.. :-) :-)

Hope that Lucas finds his way to your daughter before too long Ann. New fleeces sound a good choice with the wet/windy weather and a drop in the temperature now.

Jane we have 3 regular cats coming into our garden. After Vera's advice I am thinking twice before putting cows milk down for them now.
We have a pet shop in the village and I will need to pop in and see what cat treats are available....... all very new to me I might add.

Oh dear Ann.I hope Lucas is safe somewhere.Has your DIL contacted the people where she has moved from just in case he tries to find his way back to his old home?

So empty purses then today after a good spending spree :-D :-D

Hi all visiting Daughter's apartment so on the intenet, can't work out though why I had to log in to Genes. Just been to Hawkeshead and bought two fleece tops and a fleece gillet, also some Christmas presents, we left OH home working so we are out with our money alone!!

Lucas has still not returned home so goodness knows where he is, meanwhile Luna is top cat and enjoying it.

Not sure when I will be on next.

Vera I bash my peanuts up with the steak tenderiser thingy lol and then mix them in with the suet pellets in the window feeder.
I do have a one of those wire ball things for peanuts.Must look it out.But I find that it is the Squirrels that empty it rather than the birds.

Yes they do say these days not to give cats 'normal' milk.I get the cat milk for Thomas but just give him a tiny bit each day. But saying that all our cats had milk and they lived to a ripe old age.Our old Peter used to get the cream off the Gold Top every Saturday plus silver top milk every day .
Kandj,how many cats visit you?

kandj Report 17 Nov 2015 21:47

Thanks for that information Vera, I hadn't realized cows milk could cause digestive problems for cats. I will now need to rethink of ways to keep the neighbourhood
cats well and my garage mice free too.

A wet, grey day here. I think we've all been a bit spoiled with the mild weather we had. I do have to keep reminding myself that it is the middle of November so I should expect wintry weather.

I hope your daughter's cat has turned up Ann. It's always a worry when a pet goes missing.

Kandji, I am sure the neighbourhood cats will keep your mice away but it may not be a good idea to tempt them in with milk. While they love to drink milk it can cause quite severe digestive problems in many cats unless you buy the special cat milk which is lactose free. You could perhaps try a few cat biscuits or treats with a saucer of water.

We had an influx of starlings a little while ago and they have eaten most of the fat balls. They don't leave much for any other birds.

Do your garden birds go for peanuts? In our old house we used to buy 20 kg sacks which didn't seem to last very long at all but the birds here don't seem to go for them at all. I am trying to use up a 3 kg bag I bought by chopping a handful up small with a hachette and putting them into the home made fat cakes.

Hello all

It's dark, we still have the lights on inside so it could seem a long day here today.

I have washed the two birdbaths and filled both the window and ground feeder. We will wait and see who comes today.

I am still putting milk out daily for the neighbourhood cats. It's my way of keeping the garage mouse free!!! So far, so good.

Is Thomas behaving himself Jane,

I hope that the cat has shown up at your daughter's home now Ann.

Has your Daughters cat turned up Ann?I do hope so .It is such a worry .I am even worrying now as Thomas has been gone since 11.30 this morning. He shot out when the furniture spray came out !!!!!.He would have normally been here sleeping most of the afternoon.

Hello all, cold and windy here with black rain clouds overhead.

Vera, watching the robins must have been a nice surprise for you both.

Ann, I do hope your daughter's cat finds his way home before very long.

Jane, we also have a steady stream of birds on the feeders, they must be filling up too.

Jane Report 14 Nov 2015 13:48

Oh Ann I hope puss turns up :-( Hopefully he is somewhere still close by and will find his way back home soon.
It is so dark here and the rain seems to be getting harder. My Window feeder is very busy at the moment.Maybe the birds are filling up now before the weather gets any worse.I can see I will have to put my rain jacket on and refill it very soon.I can't see any birds on the lawn.
