They are dead Kandj ,so no escaping from the bags in the bin LOL. Dead as Dodos :-D. Gone to Mouse Heaven. You are being very brave :-)
My Neighbour has asked where Thomas is as her garden is over run with bunnies . Lots of babies. I think he has been there as he has waddled in looking very full and walked straight passed his food bowls :-D :-D

TWO MORE DEAD MICE.. I am a nervous wreck. Send Thomas here please!!!!
Traps set up in the garage again.... see what tomorrow brings.......... Ughhhhhhh

kandj

kandj Report 30 Jul 2017 09:56

Another dead mouse in the garden trap which I put near to where I first saw one. This is now 5 dead mice in 3 days, and I haven't plucked up the courage to check inside the garage yet....... I am NOT LIKING this one little bit.

They have all been little mice so far, so where are Mum and Dad hiding???... HELP!!

Jane, bunny rabbits, spiders, creepy crawlies, ants don''t bother me BUT MICE.....YUK.

Jane

Jane Report 30 Jul 2017 13:50

Kandj you will soon be a proffesional at disposing of dead mice :-D. I do hope that you aren't going to be finding too many more now.

I saw the lovely little Woodpecker on the window feeder this morning. The Spotted one.I can never remember if it is the Greater or Lesser Spotted. It looked to me as though it might have been a young one. Other than that it is the same visitors and still as busy as ever. I have started adding lots of Sunflower Hearts in with the suet pellets so the food is lasting a lot longer and saving me lots of ££s :-D :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 30 Jul 2017 15:23

Jane, you just reminded me that our feeders need filling.

Kandj, the mice can't hurt you once they are dead and you have done a good job of getting rid of them so well done.

Really odd weather here today, one minute brilliant sunshine, blue skies and warm, the next pouring with rain and cold. :-( :-(

kandj

kandj Report 30 Jul 2017 22:08

We have had the same sort of day as you today Ann. One minute it is warm and dry and then next minute it is cold and heavy showers... strange weather for Summer.

Nothing in the garage traps today although one bait tray was empty (again). I am
thinking we have a clever/crafty mouse or even more than one? I have set up 4
traps now with peanut butter which Amazon gives good reviews about, we shall see what happens overnight..... will there be dead mice...... or empty traps???

When I was a very young girl my Dad found what he thought was a dead mouse in the trap and he dropped it into the old type metal dustbin. I had helped prepare vegetables and peel potatoes and took the bowl outside and lifted the dustbin lid to see the mouse running around inside the bin... that is why I have a phobia about mice even after all these years. Crazy even silly perhaps, but true!

kandj Report 1 Aug 2017 21:33

2 more dead mice again today...... makes 7 in total. Slowly losing the will to live now!!!

Jane

Jane Report 2 Aug 2017 19:48

Kandj ,I do feel for you ,knowing how scared you are of mice. At least you are catching them which is a good thing. But not pleasant having to find them and then having to bag them up to dispose of. You will get them all in the end :-D :-D
You have plenty of traps now :-D :-D

Miserable night here with heavy drizzle. Thomas will turn up looking like a drowned Rat .Hopefully soon.I have a towel ready for the rub down :-D
Bit quiet on the bird front today.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Aug 2017 20:20

Jane is he still hunting rabbits, even in the rain?

Kandahar, you are doing well, doing your share of decimating the rodent population.

Cold, windy and damp here most of today with a bright spell this afternoon.

Yesterday I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from the side/back of my neck. I had five stitches and it is sore and stiff so I have not been doing a lot today.

kandj

kandj Report 2 Aug 2017 20:43

Ann, I hope all went well for you today and that you will feel a little better soon.

Jane..... thanks for your support (and you too Ann)... 2 more dead mice in the
garage again today... 9 so far.. YUK!!! I AM FEELING ILL.... but needs must Ughhh

I have stopped using the ground feeder in the back garden and taken the seed feeders down from the trees....... sorry birds...... I'm not coping well with the mice and don't want to encourage the ones around here to stay!!!!!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 2 Aug 2017 21:11

Thanks Kandahar, it was yesterday, all went well but it leaves me feeling battered and the stitches are sore. Hopefully it will soon heal though.
Gosh 2 more hope you will soon reach the end.

kandj

kandj Report 3 Aug 2017 15:27

Ann, I hope that you are feeling less battered and are a little more comfortable today.

Jane, I really think we could do with Thomas here to get rid of all the mice....ughhhh.

I haven't plucked up the courage to go into the garage to check the traps I set yesterday afternoon, but I will need to go sometime soon.... wish me luck please!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Aug 2017 15:59

Hi Kandj (goodness knows how I got to that name for you yesterday). Yes less battered although still stiff and sore but dressing changed now and vaseline put on the wound as instructed and all looks well with it.

Jane

Jane Report 3 Aug 2017 19:36

Ann, is it in an awkward place on your neck? Hopefully once it all heals up you will feel much more comfortable. No collars or high neck clothes ?

Yes Thomas is still getting Rabbits. Just a few minutes ago we saw him with one almost the same size as him . He has taken it as normal intot he big hedge. It must be like a bone yard in my hedge !!!!!.

Loved the name Kandahar LOL It is strange how the computer kicks up a completely different word to what you have typed .
Kandj If I lived near you I would bring Thomas for a little holiday :-D. He would definitely sort your Mice problem for you.

SuffolkVera

SuffolkVera Report 3 Aug 2017 21:06

You are being very brave dealing with all those mice Kandj. I am very impressed. I wouldn't want to do it.

Not seeing any birds around at the moment but the food is disappearing so they must be coming in to the garden. It's been so wet that they have probably all grown webbed feet.

Hope your neck heals very quickly Ann. Take care.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Aug 2017 21:15

Jane it is in a very awkward place sort of an inch down from my right ear and an inch along to the left. So any dressings are on my hair line and in the ease of my neck when I turn my head which is why dressings work loose. I think I might leave the dressing off tomorrow as my Dr said. The stitches are very neat so he did a good job.

Jane

Jane Report 5 Aug 2017 17:56

If it is all dry and clean Ann you should be fine now without the dressing.
How is it today? What an awkward place you had it. I expect you have been a bit wary of sleeping on that side too .At least it is done now and rid of.

What a weird afternoon here with the weather. One minute as black as your hat with the threat of a Thunderstorm .The next minute Blue Sky . The next minute raining Cats and Dogs and now the sun is out again. Not a cloud to be seen !!!!! Only Great Britain can have this . That is why we talk about the weather so much LOL
The Birds are very confused :-S

kandj Report 6 Aug 2017 17:14

Two more mice yesterday (Ughhhhhhh) so a total of 13 dead mice so far...... YUK!!

BUT.. shhhhhh...we checked the garage this morning and the 4 traps in there were empty... (GREAT), I have just been and checked and there are still NO MICE in the
garage and NO DEAD MICE in the two traps I set in the garden yesterday (EVEN BETTER).... however, I am not getting too excited as we had two days last weekend without catching any mice and then it all began again for the remainder of the week!

Thank you Vera for your kind words.... I cringe and squint through closed eyes when I have to bag up the dead mice I still DON'T LIKE MICE, but it has to be done Ughh

I have now stopped putting food on the ground feeder and have taken the seed feeders and fat balls from the back garden trees. I feel a little guilty when I see the regular birds waiting to be fed each morning, but my priority now has to be the horrible mice and making sure there are no food on the ground or in the trees that will attract them. They will just have to go to the front garden to be fed now ha ha.

I hope your wound is feeling a less sore now Ann. Does it catch on your tops as it is in rather an awkward place.... I hope it heals so you can feel more comfortable soon.

Thomas would be more than happy here Jane.... with 13 dead mice so far. YUKKK

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 6 Aug 2017 17:34

I have a feeling that Thomas is so stuffed with rabbits that mice are insignificant to him.

Yes the stitches tend to catch on tops which is why I wear a soft, light scarf inside my shirts, that is slippery so doesn't catch.

Jane I have kept the dressing off and put vaseline on twice a day as instructed. It is five days now and it is still very red, a bit swollen and very stiff and sore. I suppose it is just where the skin of my neck pulls every time I move my head. the stitches are due out on Wednesday which I don't look forward to but maybe it will heal more quickly once they are out. Ages since I had the last one removed that had stitches (about 3 years) so can't remember how long it took to heal.

Hopefully it won't be long.

did do some dead heading this morning and trimmed off a couple of lavenders. OH painted a panel of the fence behind where he is going to put up an arbour, we have done it navy blue and it looks quite good. He also painted half the fence across the end of the garden which badly needed painting.

kandj Report 7 Aug 2017 09:36

Light rain here this morning, hopefully will brighten up later in the day. I plan to do
some weeding but it will be in the front border only and nowhere near any mice!

Ann, I hope that your wound is a little less painful. Having a soft scarf around your neck sounds like good idea. Good luck on Wednesday when you have stitches out.
