Jane Report 18 Dec 2015 18:57

It was Ann.Just a pity I couldn't get any pics.I stood in the Pub Car Park and watched them for ages :-D

Don't ever remember seeing Red Kites around here Jane. I have googled them and they are beautiful birds, you were lucky to witness such an amazing sight.

Bright and sunny here with blue sky and white clouds. Is it really December???

SuffolkVera Report 20 Dec 2015 16:00

We don't get Red Kites round our way but I have seen them when we have been in Oxfordshire. They are beautiful.

I am in Surrey this weekend for OH's sister's birthday and it is very grey and wet here.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 20 Dec 2015 17:41

Grey and damp in the Lake District too, but what is new? :-D

AnninGlos Report 21 Dec 2015 10:51

Ooh, we have a rather thin but very affectionate black cat here. Just picked him up from the estate up the back. We are pretty sure it is Lucas, he is very at home and Luna seems not bothered by him as she would be if he was a strange cat. He is very hungry, and minus his collar. Daughter will take him for a check up at the vet after Christmas. Six weeks ago he went off, strange because we were here when he went and seems quite happy to be cuddled by me as well as Lyn.

SuffolkVera Report 21 Dec 2015 15:49

I do hope he turns out to be Lucas. He sounds very much at home there. Was Lucas microchipped? What a lovely Christmas present if it is him :-D

Jane Report 21 Dec 2015 18:40

Oh Ann ,this is great news :-D :-D :-D :-D.Just in time for Xmas too.I do hope it is Lucas. It does sound like it is :-D :-D.I wonder where he has been, poor puss.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 21 Dec 2015 19:32

We are still 99.9% sure it is him. He is very cuddly comes to all of us in turn between sleeps of which there are many. He is very thin, you can feel his bones but otherwise seems healthy. Grandson and wife have been to check and are sure it is Lucas. Luna is most put out she preferred being the only cat. Hopefully she will get over it.

Wonderful news :-D :-D

Jane

Jane Report 22 Dec 2015 18:28

Oh it has to be Lucas Ann
I wonder if he has been shut in somewhere or just got lost after running off.He is back home now which is the best Christmas Present :-D :-D :-D.I am sure Luna will soon get used to not being TOPCAT :-D :-D

We had a right old do with the window feeder today.I had just filled it up (to the brim)
and a few minutes later heard a big thump,as a huge Squirrel landed on it.After 3 returns the feeder was knocked off the window :-S :-S..What a mess.I tried to sweep up as much as i could but the wind was blowing the pellets all over the place.I gave up in the end and thought that they wouldn't be on the ground for long..I was right.I went out half an hour later and there was nothing left at all on the ground. So the Cheeky thing had been back yet again and scoffed the lot.
I refilled the feeder and a bit later the Woodpecker was on there :-D.I have been to my garden shop today and bought plenty of food to see them over the Xmas.

I have just seen on our news of a Reindeer being taken into a Care Home...The elderly just loved it.It was wonderful to see :-D :-D

Yes I watched that too Jane. Lucas is more his old self today, frisky and still wanting attention. He spent a couple of hours last night sleeping with us, trouble is having food on hand to eat and having to catch up with lost time, he is not pleasant to know and insisted on sleeping right up close with his rear end near my face (and nose)! Eventually he jumped down and went to sleep with daughter (and Luna). They are up to vaguely touching noses and sniffing b*ms when passing . So things are improving and he is definitely our Lucas. He had definitely been sleeping rough and probably cadging food, lost his collar too. He is really thin (and making up for it), and his fur is out of condition but nothing major to worry about as far as ee can tell.

Little monkey still wants to get outside and we daren't let him out as he will be off again. :-(

Jane

Jane Report 22 Dec 2015 20:44

Oh Bless him Ann..he just wants to snuggle up whether it be front or rear end :-D.Give him a couple of weeks and he will be back to normal Lucas :-D He will fill out again in no time and no doubt rule the roost.
He needs to be kept in for a couple of weeks if possible. He might go stir crazy but that is what I was told years ago when we moved here with our cat Solo. The only problem with that was ,she never again went outside to do her business. She would come back in and use the tray and then go off into the garden again :-S :-S

kandj

kandj Report 23 Dec 2015 10:36

Aww, just read up and see Lucas is back home safe and sound Ann. This is the very best Christmas present ever for your Daughter, not too sure about Luna though ha ha
Perhaps the cat won't like having Lucas back to share the fuss and cuddles now?
Last year was the worst possible Christmas with Jon passing away. I really hope Lucas will help to comfort your Daughter for a tough Christmas this year.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 23 Dec 2015 11:46

Yes, it was the best Christmas present, she is happy about that. We do have a suspicion that he will be off again as soon as he is let out, he is by nature adventurous. He will be kept in for two weeks though. Luna is sort of accepting him, but also ignoring him and ignoring us too for cuddling him. She was on our bed this morning at the same time as him, difficult to make a bed with two cats on it.

A bit drier here today but very cold. Yesterdsy Lyn drove us to Ambleside to the garden centre and ee were glad we were in the -Audi 4x4 as the roads were flooded in many places. We managed to get through ok.

kandj

kandj Report 23 Dec 2015 22:44

We have watched the scenes of even more flooding in the Lake District. Just too awful for words. Those poor people, we dread to think how Christmas and the New Year will be for them all.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !!

I have been dipping in and out and keeping up with things,so glad to hear Lucas has turned up safely Ann.

Both babies are doing very well and growing fast. We have every one here for Christmas. Most of them arrived on Sunday, ( we are in Surrey for the week or so - bigger house !!!)

The garden is doing well with Daffs well up, as well as Kerria, Periwinkles, Wallfflowers, Roses, Winter Jasmine and even the poor old abused Forsythia in flower.

Everything is all mixed up outside. The Daffodils are fully out in Somerset.

Anyway, I will try to communicate a bit more after Christmas.Once again,Seasons Greetings to all. xxx

Kandj yes the floods are horrific aren't they? Soul destroying for those poor people in Appleby where they have been flooded twice and more rain expected today.

Maryanna, I don't know how many there are of you altogether but with two young babies it will be chaotic. Bad enough here but only four of us here and six for Christmas day. Still I am sure you will have a lovely day with the babies.

Lucas seems to have settled now and is not needing cuddles all the time.

Jane Report 24 Dec 2015 16:41

It's all gone crazy hasn't it Maryanna.Nature doesn't know what the heck is going on.The grass is still growing too.OH gave the lawn a cut on Friday !!!!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.Eat , Drink, and be Merry :-D :-D
MERRY CHRISTMAS <3
Lucas is a very lucky puss to be back home again just in time for a bit of Turkey :-D

Think all the birds have flown to sunnier climes - even my fat cakes have remained uneaten.

Good to see you posting again Maryanna. You are going to have a busy Christmas with the family and two babies to cuddle.

We are going to my daughter's just for the day tomorrow which will probably be chaotic as she will also have several of her in laws and there will be three dogs as well. Then on Boxing Day we were going to my brother's for a couple of days but he and his partner have both been unwell so we have postponed that visit and will have a quiet time at home.

Happy Christmas to you all <3
