Cooking is a craft :-D

Eating.......... is that a craft or a hobby?

I like to cook and I like to eat :-D

Many people have posted recipes, but they are lost somewhere on the boards.

I'm not suggesting we all start posting our favourite recipes.... but perhaps if someone is looking for advice on how to cook something, or looking for a recipe, we could keep it together on one thread.

Errol, have you died and gone to heaven? Glad you have got your fleece back.

Actually recipe threads would be ok if they were dedicated. (i.e. slow cookers on one thread, pickles and chutneys on another). That way people could watch the kind of cooking (and eating) they were interested in.

Suzanne ~

If I'm stuck for a recipe, I look at the Australian Women's Weekly website:

http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/recipe-search/

Sometimes it's quicker for me to look at the website than to look through cookbooks.

I have lots of their cookbooks.... there's no space on the shelf for more!

I wanted a "different" recipe for a carrot cake, tried their carrot & zuchinni one the other day..... it's really nice.

I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds interesting.

I love avocado, but OH detests it. :-(

AVOCADO ICECREAM

3 ripe avocados (about 750 grams)
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
395gr can condensed milk
275ml can coconut milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Halve & remove seeds from the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a food processor. Add the lemon juice and process until smooth. Add the condensed milk, coconut milk and vanilla extract; process until combined.

Transfer to an airtight container. Cover tightly and freeze, stirring occasionally so it freezes evenly, for three hours, or until almost frozen.

Spoon into cleaned food processor and process until smooth. Return to the container and cover. Freeze until firm.

Set aside to soften slightly before scooping into bowls.

:-D

The recipe suggests sprinkling the ice-cream with chopped pistachios.
